Boyles should give up football and concentrate on basketball. He could get a nice division 1 scholarship.

Why should he give up a sport that he loves to play? If he is worthy of a D-1 scholarship in basketball playing football will not change that status( unless injured). If you think back a few years ago to a kid named Chris Lofton who was one of the best WR I have watched play high school football you will understand my response. Playing both sports seemd to work out pretty good for him.

Also it doesn't matter if the scholarship is D-1, D-II or III or NAIA, the most important thing is getting a quality education and all of these levels offer that opportunity.

Raceland is too small of a school for any kid to "sit out" of any sport if they really want to play. There have been some coaches at Raceland in the past that have looked down on certain kids or tried to talk them out of playng football (for example) and concentrate on basketball. A school the size of Raceland needs all of it's athletes on the field, court, diamond or whatever the sport. If the kid wants to play and can handle his academics (that is always#1) then he should be able to play if it is o.k. with his parents. No coach of any sport at any school should try and keep a kid out of a sport that they want to play.

Kids should enjoy high school sports. It is a great time. If a kid is worthy of a scholarship they will get one.

I bet if you told him that he would have to quit one sport, it would not be football.

Ram I have to disagree Tyler is a B-ball freak

I was thinking of baseball. I would agree basketball is probably first, but I would think football would be second, with baseball being third. I may be wrong.

We would disagree if it was daytime or nighttime, but unlike other alums at other places lets try to keep each other around

 You just couldn't pass it up could you?

With all the kids specializing in sports now it makes it tough on the 3 sport player to compete at a high enough level to be seen. It a young man wants a good bball scholarship in the 16th he better hit the AAU schedule hard. BUT dont get me wrong I hope he doesnt give up football.
