Ok, I'll admit it, I have no idea who this is.

He's coached a couple sports at Newport for at least 10 years now. He was the JV baseball head coach for a long time and at one point was the Middle School football head coach. Lately he has been an assitant on both the Varsity football and baseball teams. I believe the last couple of years he has been coaching the DB's.

Sounds like he they only want him to have 5 coaches on staff and from what I have heard he wants to have a lot of Newport people on staff.

and if I am wrong, you can cancel my subscription with no refund!

He is but i'm not sure when he will be officially named he announced it the other day in his gym class mostly consisting of football players.

I like that article, it is a staff report, nobody wants to claim credit I guess. :D

Long time assistant Jim Hyder. Congrats and good luck!!!!!!

Congrats to Coach Hyder. Good coach and will work hard for the team. Good Luck.

From what i remember about about Jim Hyder, he was a baseball player at Georgetown but also coached football and baseball at Npt. since the early 80"s so I think it"s about time Npt. gives him a chance. Great guy and great with with kids.

Jim Hyder has been coaching at Newport (both football and baseball) since 1996.

Congratulations Coach Hyder! You will do a fantastic job with the Wildcat program and I look forward to seeing you build on the winning tradition that has been established at Newport!
