Amen. I will be visiting. The bible is the inspired word of God. Written by men who wrote through the inspiration (God breathed) of the Holy Spirit. Evolution is a theory the same as intelligent design and there are many more proofs of intelligent design than evolution. Both sides of the issue need to be taught and then the students will be able to make an informed decision. My guess most will see the fallacy of evolution.

Now, surely that's not entirely true. Boiled down to its essence, creationists believe that the first human was created out of sand and clay. Evolutionists beliefs are otherwise. There has always been a conflict on that point. Its when teachers REFUSED to permit discussion of the creationist theory that creationists raised a stink (BOE in Kansas circa 1940). I don't know of any Creationists who object to evolution being taught; they simply object to evolution being the ONLY thing taught.

If they can come up with a competing scientific model (not philosophical stance) I welcome their theories to make the science books that every kid reads.

I didn't post my researched stance, but how I remember High School Biology class. And I was probably too young then (or at least cared little about it) to understand the full extent of the controversy. My point being that I was able to sit through a lecture on evolution without my beliefs being challenged, oblivious to the riff over it.

 

However, I think you are blurring the lines between Christians and creationists. I think most Christians agree with what you have said: God created the earth, while teachers using evolution to "prove" wrong Christianity is unacceptable. Yet I see creationist as out to prove wrong evolution, as if there is an all or nothing battle between belief in one or the other. From their site:

I view creationists as being militantly against science or other theories. Where you think of the Board of Education of Kansas, I think of the Scopes trial.

So which story of creation is the 'right' one?

In creating Men and Women God had something different in mind than the animals. The animals are spoken of as having been "created "according to their kinds" Genesis 1:25.

 

Humans are described as being made in the image of God and the likeness of him 1:26:27. We don't know what this "image" consisted of, we note that God intended Man would serve him by having dominion over the rest of creation.

 

God wanted to come and have fellowship with the humans.

 

Everything is related to God in some way, this is each done differently according to their natures. The planets which he created obey God through their obeying of God's natural Laws.

 

Animals do this through their insticts...fish which spawn each year where the place they were spawned. There are unconscious acts of the animals and we know of several more examples.

 

Only humans are able to obey God voluntarily (sp) by obeying his commands and loving him through worship. But you have to obey the pattern that he set forth through his Son that we learn through faith in this Son and God's scripture 1st Timothy 3:15:16 "All scripture is God Breathed and to be used in teaching and and lifting up his word".
