Reds file grievance against Nats

Featured Replies

We got rid of their salary that we were going to have to pay them if we wanted to keep them. Bray is far from a minor league pitcher. He WAS an All-Star. So what he isn't playing like that now and he wasn't when we traded him.

Bowden made the quote to the effect of "We gave them all of the medical records they asked for." Does that mean the Reds didn't do too good a job of investigating their health, or is Bowden saying "we knew he was hurt but they never asked."

I would say it means we knew he was hurt, but they didn't ask for the right record.

Basically that's what he was saying. He knew that Majewski had gotten a shot or two and was possibly suffering from a "dead arm" and though the medical records may not have shown it, he kept that information to himself.

At least that's my best opinion.

That could be it too. lol

Who knows, it was a crap trade and the Reds got taken advantage of. Don't know what MLB can do at this point.

In a way I fault the Reds for dealing with Bowden. Was he fired or did he just move on? I wouldn't cut a deal with a guy who you just let go.

That's my problem with the trade all along. We got at the time like the 8/9th best pitching prospects in their system. I am not sure if that is the exact rankings but I could have sworn it was near there. I felt like we could have got something better from a different team.

^No love for the Hamilton or Phillips moves?

Oh sure. They're legit. It's just some of the other ones that get tiresome. Anyone remember Dave Williams from last year? Solid.

Lohse deal hardly a big plus at this point. He's doing same thing he's done his entire career - underachieve.

Lopez and Kearns are making $3.5M each. Not quite exhorbitant salaries that needed to be dumped. Gonzalez makes the same. He's better in field than Lopez, but Lopez has proven himself a better stick (career .260 vs. 246). Not sure it's much, if any, of an upgrade. And ultimately, what did we get for it? Sure, Bray was an all-star, but so was Lopez. Now both he and Majewski are injured minor leaguers.

I'm gonna highlight that and since you said that there is no point arguing any further. And Gonzo is a HUGEEEEEEEE upgrade over Lopez.

I wasn't talking about Bill Bray being an All-Star. It was Lopez I just worded it weird. If you don't know that how are you even arguing about how this is a bad trade?

Again with this meaningless trade? Sigh...

Lance had this as his stat of the day. I'm calling the Reds stat of the pre Krivsky decade...

Hal McCoy, Dayton Daily News

Of the 30 major-league teams, the Reds are 29th in players they have developed on their 40-man roster and 29th for players they've developed who are on other teams' 40-man rosters.

Again with this meaningless trade? Sigh...

You were all for it when it happened.

You were all for it when it happened.

I still think it was the right move at the time. As it turns out, it became the one major thing people have against Krivsky. The guy was left a total train wreck. It's going to take time, and Kearns and Lopez had nothing to do with that...

Anyone remember Dave Williams from last year?

The Reds traded for Williams prior to Krivsky getting the job.
