What time will the HC CCH game be played?

 

6:00 Monday at Michan.

If he comes back healthy, and CovCath gets past Cov Holy Cross, it will be a huge plus for CovCath as they go farther in the tourney...

 

Also, Kyle Houlehan may return from a nagging shoulder injury that has kept him on the bench all year. Last year, he was 6-0 or 7-0. He will be a big help during the playoffs if he can return to last year's form.

I wish it were, but no, it is at Covington Meinken the second worst field (IMO) that I have seen games played on this season. Beechwood is hands down the worst.....

 

No, I meant the CCH-Ryle game. I thought I heard/read it was at Freedom's field.

Game was in the metropolis of Union City and there was a very nice crowd for the game, exceptionally large for a regular season game.

Believe it or not IMO, I thought the crowd at Turkeyfoot for the JV Championship game was as large, or larger than the crowd at Ryle on Friday. Of course, I didn't count the football team's party going on in the background at Ryle, as they really didn't watch a lot of the game.

Interesting. I agree about Beechwood, but what is it you find so distasteful about Meinken? It's not St. Henry obviously, but I've always felt it was a pretty nice field actually - certainly on par with the majority of NKY HS fields (which, as a collective group, are pretty unimpressive). I'd like to know if it's being poorly maintained, as my summer team has a couple games there this summer. thanks.

I agree that most of the fields are equally 'ok' at best...but Meinken continues to roll with the nearby river I suppose...it's just terribly uneven with many, many rolls and bumps...it's a little worse than the rest...imo...

Only the second time in three years that Cov Cath made the trip to Union and they lost both, the previous was a 2-1 loss to Sean Mace. In that same three seasons the Raiders played seven games at Park Hills and two on neutral sites. I see why they don't like to come out to U Town.

So, Ryle loves to play at CovCath, big deal. I would have thought DD that even you would have understood (well maybe you don't) that Ryle plays in a lot of tournament games at CovCath, where you don't even play CovCath, or only do so, by the luck of the draw.... All you have to do is look at the KHSAA scoreboard and go to the 2006 then to the 2005 seasons, to see how many other teams Ryle played at CovCath other than CovCath .... Gee DD even you, can do better than that....

 

BTW; CovCath plays year in a year out one of the toughest schedules in the Commonwealth. They play anyone anywhere at any time. This season CovCath has the 16th toughest schedule, Ryle has the 36th, so DD to improve Ryle's strength of schedule, maybe you need to play CovCath more often....:thumb:

 

BTW; Union isn't big enough to be a one letter town just yet like E-Town etc. maybe in another ten to twenty years, but not at the present time.....:lol:

OK...let's talk head to head. I think the Raiders have a 2-1 advantage. And you need to come out a little earlier next time you come out and drive around the burbs, not just down Hwy 42...U town is bigger then you think. My only point is...CCH does not have much luck on our field.

Ryle has had a run of very good baseball teams in the last couple of years, but somehow CovCath has won a state title in the last five years in baseball (02), and has won the ninth region three times since 2000 (00, 02, 05). Now how many state or regional titles has Ryle won since 2000? Since 1993? BTW, on Ryle's own baseball web site, it shows your record against CovCath since 1993 as being an impressive 11-26, of course, advantage CovCath, and that includes the 2-1 mark this season. CovCath has beaten Ryle more times that any other High School, since Ryle started playing baseball in 1993.

 

DD I have lived in Boone County most of my adult life, far longer than most of the current residents of our county and I fondly remember when in making a phone call from Kenton to Boone it was a Long Distance call. I fully understand how big Union is now, and how big it is going to be....and that to me, is one of the problems that just might happen with Union, getting too big. Luckily the city leaders of Union seem to have their heads on straight, unlike the leaders of Florence, who seem only to be concerned about what how much more they can fit into their city. I live in the County and am very happy about it, much more so than if I lived in either Union or Florence.

And Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit....but I am talking about current events, the guys on the field now. I know the Ryle kids respect the CCH players very much as well as their coach and would like nothing more then playing once again at the big park to get out of Northern Kentucky. Ryle is a young program that is pulling together very well and will be right there at the top with the CCH boys for years to come, and that is something we can both look forward to.

I have no hard facts whatsoever to support this statement, but I find it somewhat hard to believe the Ryle has only played the 35th toughest schedule. (Of course, I admit that is a rather subjective statement based primarily on the fact that I am a Ryle fan ).
