Yawnsville.

He's been to 11 Sweet 16s, 7 Elite Eights, 5 Final Fours, 3 title games. I don't care what you say, it's a heck of a resume.

Roy has been a very successful coach, I think the point many are making is that he has had a history of going out to lower ranked teams..especially at Kansas where he seemed to under achieve every year. He has a very good resume' when you look at it from a distance, good records, great regular seasons and tons of highly rated recruits. Yet most unbiased observers will agree his teams have been disapointments in the NCAA's.

not saying that its not.... he still has not won the big game with his own players

And yet he's fourth of active coaches in tournament winning percentage. He's been a bridesmaid more than his fair share, but he often has lost to the tournament champs (obviously twice in the title game, but off the top of my head, also to Duke in 91 and UNC in 93 and Maryland in 02.) Sometimes you just get caught when it's someone else's year.
ok.... you are missing my point. Roy has not shown that he can win with his own players. He has had incredibly talented teams in the past that have faultered.

If it weren't for Roy, most of the 2005 roster would have transferred or went to the NBA. Regardless of who recruited the players, Roy did one heck of a job in that title game and deserves all the credit for it.

What was Matt Doherty's record in his last season in Chapel Hill? 19-16 (6-10.)

Even though I don't belong to the group of people that think Tubby should mail Rick that ring, there's no comparison between the two cases.

exactly, Roy Williams will win anoter ring, and i guess with his "own" players. He may not have recruited May, McCants, or Felton, but the guy got Williams, who went high in the NBA draft after just one year. Williams will win a national championship before Billy G at UK, and before Coach K gets another one at Duke.

He may even win 2 more before UK gets that far
