Pick your 9th Region All Star Team

I guess you have not seen Mutsch(sp?) from Brossart throw, though he is a 10th region player but you said any NKY player and he qualifies for that, I doubt Ellliot hits 92 consistently not taking anything a way from Elliott, but you make it sound like he is the next coming of Moses, You make it sound like he should be pitching in the Big Leagues right now.

I tell you what, I saw them pitch Tuesday and Wednesday, and I talked to CCH baseball players, and they said Elliot was throwing harder. Maybe Mutsch had an off day.

My question is, did you talk to a sophomore or a senior for this evaluation. Don't take it the wrong way, I am just curious.

I know my opinion from having watched both kids over the past 2 years. Speed is not everything, mind you, it doesn't hurt; however, you have to be able to throw more than a fast ball....ask the Reds, nothing but a fast ball can hurt you more than help.

I will say this, I have seen all the top pitchers in NKY, Elliott throws harder than any of them w/a great curve/change up to compliment his fast ball. Think what you want, as we all will, Elliott is an all star!

I don't recall seeing any/many change-ups from him against CCH. Seemed to go straight fastball and curveball.

I think one of each, I hardly remember. Definently one was a Senior.

Have to agree with cch5432, Elliott threw a lot harder than Mutsch did and the gun that was on him at CovCath (btw it wasn't a CovCath gun) had him around 86/87 consistently.

In the comment about Elliott while he is the best I have seen in NKy this year, he was not even close to the kid from Mason. Mason also had a kid that was a junior (at least that is what I was told) who was the best SS I have seen since the days of Leo Foster from Cov Holmes and the Atlanta Braves. This kid was so.....smooth.......it was scary......

First let me start w/SirMixAlot, I never said he should be in the big leagues right now pitching only that he throws harder than anyone I have seen in NKY, including Mr Mutsch. I have been told he throws 92, I did not see that as the CCH players verified the same thing. Elliott throws harder than anyone they have faced in NKY.

Why do people keep bringing up this Mason kid. Who cares, he is in OH. That has nothing to do w/this thread or NKY. To compare someone to Leo Foster is huge as I watched him play growing up as he was my idol who I tried to mimick.

While you watched him, I played against him in knotehole, high school and summer ball. Was a true pleasure wathcing him play agianst the Reds while on the Braves team in the 70's. Is without a doubt the best SS (best player period) I have ever seen coming out of NKy.....and indeed the kid from Mason was as close to him as I have seen....

When Scott played Brossart He was hitting 92 consistently, Maybe he was just having a great day, not saying Elliott is great, but after seeing much throw i find it hard for anyone in NKY throw harder than him, maybe im wrong, i have not seen Elliott throw.

Too bad you never seen me play!:dancingpa Just kidding, Leo was great but I would put Bobby Barton in as best I have ever SEEN[/b and he was probably a better basketball player from what I have been told.

Bob Barton was open and in range as soon as he touched the ball.

Sophmore from Conner Tyler Brake deserves some mention. Batting .523, 4 HR, 26 BB, with over 100 AB's. Plays a great first base defensively.

Any others catchers getting mentioned?
