April 27, 200719 yr Who would it be??? Debated this for a while last night. Rules: you cannot place two individuals that played the same position on the team (for instance, Tim Duncan and Karl Malone are both PFs... you could only take one or the other... BTW, struggled the most with PF). PG: SG: I guess we can pencil in Jordan here SF: PF: C:
April 27, 200719 yr C- Wilt Chamberlain PF-Karl Malone SF-Larry Bird SG-His Airness PG-Magic Bird and Jordan were no brainers. Kind of a tough pick at the point between Magic and Isaiah to me. I went with the personal favorite though. Wilt, Bill Russell and Kareem are all very deserving at center, but Wilt did some unreal things so I went with him. PF is really tough. Most of the great big guys were centers. I suppose I went with Malone b/c where would the Jazz have been without him for all those years. That and I'm probably an 80's-90's NBA homer.
April 27, 200719 yr PG: Oscar Robertson SG: Jerry West SF: Julius Erving PF: Karl Malone C: Bill Russell
April 27, 200719 yr PG: Oscar Robertson SG: Jerry West SF: Julius Erving PF: Karl Malone C: Bill Russell I know he is the logo, but come on man, West over Jordan?
April 27, 200719 yr PG: Big O SG: Kobe SF: Jordan PF: Tim Duncan (David Robinson was the center at the time) C: Wilt

April 27, 200719 yr When did Jordan play SF? I debated on that because there were many times that Scottie ran point, Paxson/Hodges was the other guard which left Jordan at SF. That was my reasoning and I am sticking to it. :thumb:

It's very debateable and I dont think you could really say Pippen was ever the point. He might have been a "point forward" type like Antoine Walker has been at times. I think you would have a very hard time arguing Jordan as anything but an SG to basketball purists and historians. Basically with your team, you are saying Kobe is a better SG than Bird was a SF. Thats what I get from it.

Basically with your team, you are saying Kobe is a better SG than Bird was a SF. Thats what I get from it. I cannot stand Kobe but acknowledge his talent as one of the greatest ever. Some great players are going to be left out. The only three that I would stand firm on would be Big O, Jordan and Chamberlain. Others I could be swayed. I hate leaving Magic off this team as I feel he is one of the top 5 players ever but he and Big O play that same position. Now I could go with Magic at 1, some justification that Big O was a 2 and Jordan at 3.
April 27, 200719 yr C- Wilt Chamberlain PF- Charles Barkley SF- Larry Bird SG- Michael Jordan PG- Magic Johnson It's tough to leave Pippen out in my opinion. It was also tough to select a power forward but Barkley was 6'4" and had an MVP under his belt. Second Team C- Bill Russell PF- Karl Malone SF- Scottie Pippen SG- Jerry West PG- Isiah Thomas
April 27, 200719 yr C- Wilt Chamberlain PF- Charles Barkley SF- Larry Bird SG- Michael Jordan PG- Magic Johnson Funny that point guard AND small forward is about a half of a foot taller than power forward. And 4 of the 5 was on the original dream team.

April 27, 200719 yr Center- Wilt Chamberlin... So good they had to change rules to slow him down. Shooting Forward- Larry Bird...Desire, talent, shooting ability and just a winner. Power Forward- Bill Russell...Rebounder, shot blocker and like Bird a winner. Shooting Guard-Michael Jordan...The most complete player in NBA history. Score, defend and never lost in the Finals. Point Guard- Oscar Robertson...Nearly averaged a triple double for his career and at the time he retired was number two in scoring and number one in assists.
