Most Impressive Title Run in 4A History...

I think that at the present and at times during the past, beating T and X would be a requirement for a great run, but when I was in high school, T wasn't that good and X seemed good but not great.

When exactly were you in school?

Yeah, X only had two state championships while you were in school and Trinity had 2 state semi appearances and one state final appearance. Thank God they weren't that great when you were in school...

I'm going say no, and award Christian County with the most impressive run if all you say is true.

We did play Doss on the road and the rest at old Cardinal Stadium...:sssh:

'96-'00

How could you say that...when Lexington still went 0-fer in that time...and X won '97 & '99, and we were runner's up in '97 & '00?

In which case is that a self portrait under your name? :D

No, I'm a lot older than the portrait.:D

This will likely change with the new 4A coming into existence this upcoming season, but I wanted some opinions from other folks here.

There are some impressive ones from many schools. Trinity has had a few, but while I love my Alma Mater, there is one that I feel tops ours.

George Rogers Clark, 1991. This team beat Trinity and St.X on their way to the title in 1991. While that in and of itself is impressive, what makes it even more impressive in my opinion is that they did it back to back. Few teams can claim to have beaten both schools in the same season, fewer still can claim to have done it back to back.

Thoughts?

That GRC team was the best to come out of Clark Co. I agree the back to back is what make that title so sweet.:thumb:

Diogenes, it wasn't the receiver's only catch of the year, but it was the first touchdown catch of his career.

He was the second leading receiver on the team, FWIW. Just no touchdowns.

Considering how much St.X likes to throw the ball that could still be from one catch.

My judgement if T is state titles. If you compare that time frame to before it and after it, then my coment makes sense. X should've lost in '99, but thats another story on why they didn't. hint: catch in the back of the endzone.

That's ridiculous.

Its illegal for a receiver who is not forced out of bounds to come back in bounds and become eligible. The video clearly shows the receiver to be out of bounds, the ref made the call, and the TD was overturned.

Rules of the game.

Nice piece. What a memory for GRC. Did any of them play college ball?

Embry played and started at Marshall,Clay started and had a thousand yards at Eastern his last season,Hampton went to Eastern on scholly but never made it to the field, and that was the biggest waste of talent I have ever seen.
