Going to Boston

Featured Replies

I've spent alot of time in Boston. You've gotten some great advice already however I would try to do a Duck Tour if I were you. Just go to http://www.bostonducktours.com and check out their schedule. Its cool and a wonderful way to see alot of Boston. I always try to go to Legal Sea Foods restaurant(there's several locations in Boston)....especially if you like fresh seafood, you would enjoy it. Faneuil Hall/Waterfront area has lots of good restaurants. Boston has so much history. Enjoy your time there!!!!

You want to take the Freedom Trail, 16 sites from Boston Common, the Olde Courner Bookstore, the Olde South Meeting House, the Old North Church, Old Ironsides, Bunker Hill, et. al. Definitely worth it. The graveyards will give you chills.

I recommend the Black Swan, as the finest Pub in town. It is down by the Common.

I said Black Swan but meant the Black Rose. The Black Swan is in Dublin.

Go to a Sox game. First swing by Ashland and pick me up.

Boston is an awesome city for American History buffs especially.

Fenway is an amazing ballpark....It's definitely a must see.

The Freedom Trail is great as well. You get to see some historic graveyards, as well as places like Paul Revere's home and Bunker Hill.

I'm extremely jealous right now....I went about 3-4 years ago and have been dying to go back since. I plan on moving up there when I graduate if possible.

That place has some great fish. I remember eating there 2 or 3 times. Also make sure you check out Cheers, another cool place.

Loved Boston when I visited a few years ago. It was St. Patrick's Day Weekend and there was so much to do. Also took my first subway ride. Very exciting city and I found the people there to be very nice. Big trip for a country girl!

Here is my input.

-Sox game

-Freedom Trail

-Uss Constitution

-Duck tour(half boat, half car tour)

Thanks so much for all the great suggestions.

I will most certainly have the laptop and my digital with me, so I can share some pics, GT.

I have certainly been blessed with my opportunities to travel lately. The best part about this one is that it's on the boss. ;)

Wicked good tips. If it is cold and rainy try the Museum of Natural History and maybe the Aquarium. Also, if nice and you have a cah, go to the Cape or up the coast to Maine for a day trip.

Interestingly enough, I'm flying to Boston May 5 with an old friend from school. He has a week of education seminars to attend, while I will be hanging out seeing the town, sampling some of the finer lagers and ales in the area, and trying to speak a language that contains only 25 letters.:cool:

Made a similar trip in December to DC, where I basically just hung out and saw the sights while my friend had to work every day. At least he has the evenings free I suppose.

Man, I love being self-employed. This is my 3rd vacation this year and its not even Summer yet. woohoo........

I believe we'll be going to the Cape on one of the weekend days. Not sure which day, because we're still trying to score Sox tickets for the Saturday or Sunday afternoon game.

Eat some really good Clam chowder while you are there.

* Drive up the coast to Otter Bay in Maine.

* Go to Salem.

* Go to Plymouth Rock.

* Take a day and drive through Vermont -- prettiest state in the country, IMHO.

* DO NOT go to Providence. Stinky.

* Drive out to Cape Cod.

* Go to Boston University's campus and then walk over the bridge (don't ask the name) to MIT's. Great area.
