If you were UK and had these options?

UK has 3 schollys for 2007. They have 5 players right now in the mix for getting the remaining 3 or they could use 2 of them and save 1 for next year or use 1 and save 2 for next year. If all 5 of these guys said they wanted to go to UK, what 3 would you take? Or, would you save 1 or 2 for 2008? Here's the 5, or if you know of another player or 2 I know nothing about, feel free to add them in the 3 if you wish.

 

Patterson - 6'8 PF

Sanchez - 6'8 PF/SF

Pettigrew - 6'5 PF/SF

Legions - 6'4 SG

Lucas - 5'10 PG

Personally, I would take Patterson and Sanchez because they need immediate help on the inside and I'd take Legions, because he's a great shooter and scorer and comes from a great school who's proven himself against the best competition and he's athletic...

Sanchez's knee injuries worry me a little.With that being said I'd take Patterson and Legion. I'd leave one scholly open.

If we get Legion, will it hurt our chances to get Willie Warren next year?

There is little doubt that Patterson would be a great sign but the downfall is that he is probably only here for one year. I personally would not want him around for only one season.

Willie Warren is a VERY confident kid and I don't think getting Legion will hamper his recruitment. With that said I don't believe Warren is a UK lock like some others on here. Kansas and Texas are still very much in the mix...

Well besides for Pettigrew, I wouldn't mind getting any of them. If we could get ANY 3 of the 4 and we would be in very good shape for next year...

Noone ever implied Warren was a lock...My question was simply would it possibly hamper UKs chances with them already having Legion and also Meeks

at the same position...Hopefully, he's as confident as you say and it wouldn't, but, I've gotta believe playing time is a pretty big factor in one's decision... It may come down to what type of years those 2 had and of course, what the other schools after him have coming back as well...

I disagree...If hes good enough to play at the next level after 1 year, then we could definately use him...Really, you take that chance anytime you recruit a Top 30 player, but, I'd take em all day long...

Miller COULD play SG but he is a much better fit at SF...

A lot of big names are in the mix. UK, UL, UT, UF, Kansas, UC, Illinois, UConn, Duke and IU are all after him and he hasn't been one to be very open to even making a smaller list. From what I know UC has moved on for the most part and the last I heard said he was a heavy SEC lean. If I had to make an educated guess at this point I'd say Tennessee...
