2007 Trimble County

We (Ludlow) look forward to the challenge of playing Trimble Co. this year. The first game of the year and a bowl game too! Sounds like a great time.

We (Trimble) are looking forward to the game, also. I am sure that it will be a great game!

Buckett must be confused, Frankfort has all most everyone returning, with EJ Fields who has been offered several D-1 offers. Look for the Panthers to be in the pizza box.

Gallatin should be a challenge for everyone, Coach Browning is doing a good job with them.

The Raiders have alot coming back (Bird, Hawkes , Peters, Jones and Ball) could be a better year than last if everyone stays healthy.

This district will be better than everyone thinks!!:dancingpa

You know you don't believe that.....

Frankfort only won because of a fluke play by fields kid. Poynter does to good of a job to let that one demential offense of Frankforts beat him.

I am calling it now the raiders will the district.

Frankfort wins the district....

Trimble second......

then everyone else-no disrespect to Gallatin,Eminence or Bracken.

Frankfort is definateley the favorite no matter how anyone wants to spin it. Trimble is much improved but they still will fall to the Panthers. Bird is impressive though.....

Most will see it this way. I will defer my judgement until a few games into the season.

We do agree on the fact that Bird is impressive. :thumb:

I also agree with the fact that Bird is impressive. He has improved a lot since I’ve been watching, but the rest of the team deserves a lot of credit also. Without them Bird would be no where it takes 11 players to play in a football game not just one.

I know lots of people that absolutely love to watch Bird play - I am one of them. He is not afraid of anyone...he physically punishes people for tackling him. Most teams cannot stop him...they can only hope to contain him.

The Saturday heat was a big factor last year...the Raiders did not really play well defensively, in particular. However, this year's game is played on a Friday night in September, so that aspect should be better. I do absolutely love Gallatin's field though. Once they get their pressbox and lights up, is will be the best field in the district.

Tall Trees, I think that Coach Poynter would remind you that Trimble lost 6 kids this year. A big loss that I think some people are overlooking is Bryan Dancer. He led the team in tackles...that having played two fewer games than most (out for one game due to bruised lung, one game due to death in the family). He is a junior this year, but will be too old to play next year.

Lights up hopefully be the first game. PressBox?? Who knows. Believe me, I would love to get off the ricketty bleachers from across the way.

I'm a big Bird fan as well!!!! Can't wait to see him this year.

It is good to dream. I guess we will see when the time comes.

The guy calling the shots on that "one demential" offense know his stuff.:thumb:

TC MGR 1 I believe you are right. Bird is obviously a talented running back, but, without the big guys up front and others to help carry some of the load he can't get the job done against the good teams.

Trimble/Frankfort looks like the match up for the district, although anyone can make a run at it. Gallatin will be better this year I am sure and with the number of players they are reporting out will make a big difference for them.

Trimble's defense this past year was a big difference maker for them and if it continues to improve so will the team. Hawkes can really hit. And if the kids are getting bigger and stronger as Tall Trees reports they should be better on both the O and D Lines.

You know, downonthefarm, to the credit of the kids, there is really a team atmosphere when it comes to who is responsible for Trimble's success. Bird knows that he wouldn't be able to do what he can do without the O-line and there are players on the defensive end that I have never heard say a word about their own personal accomplishments.

Welcome to the site, by the way!

I foresee the line to be a strengh of this team, alot of experience back to go along with size and strenght. D-line will have 9 guys that will rotate, so they should be able to stay fresh. This bunch should be very physical and that plays right into the way Poynter likes to play. :madman:

Should be alot of fun for the players and the fans. I hate for the summer to fly by, but I'm looking forward to Aug.25th. Good luck to Trimble Co. for the entire season.

I agree all the way around. :thumb:

I was at Henry's DQ Bowl last year and it was a very good atmosphere. A lot of fans showed up from all teams involved. Opening week end of football what better!:dancingpa

Reading threads for both Trimble and Ludlow it looks like this will be a good match up and should create a very good football game. Good luck to both teams this season.
