Great Recruiter or Great Coach?

Featured Replies

So your saying Griffey can't recruit???:D

I would rather have a great recruiter who surrounds himself with great coaches. Formula for wins!

You might as well say this is Billy Donovan. He is a great recruiter and UF became dominant when he brought on a new assistant and they learned how to play better defense. Excellent point!

He can recruit the best medical doctors to his local hospital and keep thembusy.

Sorry wrong quote before.

The Head Coach to be a great coach and Johnny Dawkins (oops) to be a grea recruiter.

Both.. If I had to choose one I'd rather have a great coach.

A great coach, with assistants who are great recruiters....

Exhibit A: Tom Izzo: When he had his great recruiters in Crean and Heath he was going to final fours, when he lost them he has been losing in the first round...

I agree completely.....Head coach should be a great x's and o's man and his assistants should be able to lure in the players.

Little known fact....Billy Donavon was not the primary recruiter for the Florida Jr. class.....That would be now VCU coach Anthony Grant.
