Tubby made a very smart career move, IMO...I think his leaving is good for both sides.

March 23, 200719 yr A SAD, SAD day! I will always be a UK basketball fan, but this doesn't paint UK fans or the area in a real good light. We lost a classy individual today! Exactly right. I really hope this isn't one of those situations where you don't realize just how good you have it until it's too late. I don't think anyone doubts Tubby's coaching ability but I think they doubt his recruiting ability.
March 24, 200719 yr The ALL AMERICAN game is a big problem...in that Patterson and Lucas both were to announce at the game this Thursday. Lucas, IMO, will follow Tubby to Minnesota or go to Maryland...UK's only chance at Patterson is IFF Billy D comes to the Bluegrass State...and that won't be known by Thursday night. (unless Florida loses tomorrow )
March 24, 200719 yr Patterson has had 3 years to committ if he wanted too so I don't feel to sorry for him. I would LOVE to have him but I'm not jumping on the pitty party! We might be hurt for a year or two and get knocked out Friday of the SEC tourny plus something like an eight seed..... wait that has become the expectation around here:) 2 years might be tough but you are kidding yourseleves if you think Billy D and UK wouldn't be a recipe for major recruits!!! I hope we save these links that talk about sad day for UK and the program. If Billy D comes then we will have some major players coming in!

(unless Florida loses tomorrow ) But didn't Patterson say all along he was only going to narrow his choices down to 3 after the McD game? He gave no indication he was ready to commit at the event.
March 24, 200719 yr If you're Duke, things are looking pretty good right now on Patterson. UK doesn't have a coach and Florida's coach is possibly heading to Kentucky. If Patterson wants to make a decision and have it over with, he chooses Duke. If he wants to wait and see how the carousel turns, he might wind up in Lexington after all.
