2007 Powell County

Your funny! It will be ugly with those two teams, but they do have a good chance of going 8-2 with the weak teams that they play.

You can schedule some weak teams when you're 1-9 the year before. I'd rank Morgan, Estill and Cawood ahead of Powell.

I think they beat Jackson Co. just their 2nd year. Whitaker out coaches Morgans new coach to get win #2. They beat Estill Co., Beat Lewis for win 4, Bath and Cawood would put them at 6-1. Then beat Betsy Layne and Berea to go 8-2.

I see them going 6-4

Are they hosting a bowl game this season? Is it against Jackson Co. ? What is it called?

They can get Morgan and Cawood, Estill?

I think some people are gonna get a big surprise when the Trojans come to town. Don't get mislead by what you have seen from Cawood in the past.

Cawood and Estill were both 3-7 last year and had similar power rankings if I remember correctly.

Last year was last year, this is a new year and new season & start for new players and coaches, but i do see some teams that look better on paper than Powell.

I have found it awfully difficult to predict wins and losses in High School football, merely on who the head coach is for both teams.

Team with the better athletes and playmakers, who is bigger, faster, and stronger will win.

The elite programs at the high school level have more coaching influence than two struggling programs.

I see Powell winning some games, but missing the playoffs. It will be interesting to see what kind of impact Coach Whitaker has on the Pirates.

There is a lot of hype with Whitaker being back in the eastern part of the state after being out west for a few years. What kind of assistants are there?

It is up to the student-athletes to perform at a high level after struggling the previous years.

If they win the opening game, the Whitaker Bank Hall of Fame Bowl, this could set the town for the season.

4-6 or 5-5 at best. I've been hearing some good things about Jackson Co. only time will tell.

First I don't know since I am not from the area. But thanks for calling me out.

I don't know that he was calling you out. I think he was just asking what happened since you stated they could go 8-2 with the weak teams they play. Fleming and Breathitt will have their way with them so the way it was worded they should have beaten Jackson.

I was curious to see if something had changed with the roster. Any team going from 1-9 to 8-2 would probably need some new players. It sounded like I was the one out of touch earlier.
