If Tubby doesn't come back it will be his decision not to do so. I think it will be a decision based on family issues. (health of parents).

:thumb: I agree, I had made reference to this in another thread. Tubby is all about family first and foremost. His parents from what all that I understand are both in failing health. With the kind of man that Tubby is you know this has been on his mind.

 

I would hope that he will return and I think that he will. Prayers go out for his parents and OTS family.

Tubby will be back no matter what. Now his assistants may be another story.

 

That's what I'm thinking, too. He's back regardless, but will start interviewing replacements for assistants the morning after we get knocked out of the tourney.

Does the UK fan base go into meltdown mode and call for Tubby's head or would they realize the recruiting is turning around and everything is getting back to UK basketball?

 

Yes to both. There would still be a lot of grumbling, but with the recruiting situation looking much brighter Tubby sticks around for at least another year.

There was a time when I was down on Tubby and I thought he should find another job. I was extremely unhappy with the cats performance. The more I watched UK, the more I noticed that Tubby was making a lot of correct calls. The UK players have not lived up to their expectations. Some players play very selfish, and some had played lazy. After watching the SEC tournament, the players started playing more as a TEAM. Tubby can not be the blame for the players behavior. Everyone knows that Tubby is a good man and he plays by the book. He is not going to change his coaching style, or his rules for anyone. Tubby wants to play TEAM ball. He has the guys playing hard now, and even though they lost to Miss State I was pleased with the effort of the UK players. If the UK team would had played Tubby ball all year, they would be in a lot better position than playing Kansas in the 2nd round.

I disagree with you. I don't see how winning this game makes it any easier for Tubby to make the needed changes on the staff. How will it be easier and who does he get more lee way from?

 

I am saying more from a fan perspective. It would have blown the roof off the burning fire. When is the last time we lost in the first round? That was the last real test for Tubby if you ask me. We are expected to lose against Kansas.
