Every time Lofton plays.....

Featured Replies

The commentators make sure they comment on Tubby's/UK's boneheaded mistake by not recruting him. Anybody else notice?

Again, Tubby is not the onlyone that did not recruit him. People really need to get over it.

Cause it's the "in" thing to say.

I was surprised that he wasn't recruited.

I've said it before...watching him in high school...he looked very, very good.

But, he may not have developed in UK's system.

The truth hurts.

Those of us who saw Chris play at Mason County know that Rupp Arena was pretty much his personal playground. That being said, he never would have had the chance to shine at UK. Best thing for him was for him to land at UT.

Hindsight is always 20/20.

I think that the repeated references to UK not recruiting Lofton demonstrate just how superficial the commentators' knowledge of the situation is.

It's the UK fan base that made it a story in the first place...

UK had the #1 recruiting class in the nation that year, get over it.......

How about UT hanging 101 points with 6 minutes left? That's high-octane offense.

It's the UK fan base that made it a story in the first place...

How is it the UK fanbase? They didn't help the situation, but Chris played 60 MILES outside of Lexington and Tubby didn't even offer him a scholarship. And now he is an All-American.

Commentator's don't talk about it nearly as much/often as UK fans do. Besides, people all over the country don't know the story and it's the color man's job to discuss these kinds of things. They don't have the time to go into detail about every story.

KEY WORD: NOW...At the time we had THREE ALL- AMERICANS and Bradley who was rated higher...Now I guess it's Tubbys fault for not hiring a fortune teller to see who would be the better player...

The fans are the ones that made it an issue because they weren't even satisfied with the #1 class in the country. They pushed the issue to an easy talking point, and now you WILL hear it every game...

I completely agree with this. I think Rondo is another example, he would have been hyped to no end at many other schools.

The fan base did not become unhappy with the recruiting class until that class fell flat on it's face.
