March 16, 200719 yr http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0703/gallery.cbb.all.americans/content.10.html Green didn't make SI's first or second team, Chris did. And Chris missed 4 games with an ankle injury. I would take Durant, Oden, Hansbrough (sp), Tucker, Affalo and Law. Green is a very good player but I would rather have Chris Lofton on my team. I am bias towards him but that doesn't mean that I am wrong.

And you're going to have to show me a lot more than a SI team to get me to believe Green isn't the 2nd best player in the country. Put Lofton in the Hoya system and his numbers drop drastically. Put Green at Tennessee and Durant is getting a run for his money at POY. You are biased, and you are wrong on this one...

If Lofton had not missed time with an ankle injury, he would be the POY for the coaches too. Show me proof that Green is a better COLLEGE PLAYER than Lofton. His team is better but thats all you have. You have your opinion and I have mine. And if you remember, Chris did drill a DEEP three in the face of Durant earlier this year to help his Vols beat Texas... He had 35 that game too.

March 16, 200719 yr So now you are trying to make a case for Lofton being better than Durant? :sssh: I didn't say that at all. Don't try to twist what I say.
March 16, 200719 yr So what does one shot against Durant prove? Sure, it was a good shot. JJ has 4 years worth of those kind of shots.
March 16, 200719 yr So what does one shot against Durant prove? Sure, it was a good shot. JJ has 4 years worth of those kind of shots. He may have 4 years of shots but there are very few of them that are against a player of Durants level. It proves that Chris is a great college player. He is not close to Durant but he is a great player.
March 16, 200719 yr He may have 4 years of shots but there are very few of them that are against a player of Durants level. It proves that Chris is a great college player. He is not close to Durant but he is a great player. Well Durant, as we all know, is not a superior defender by any means. JJ torched many great defenders, almost all of whom play better defense than Durant..
March 16, 200719 yr Well Durant, as we all know, is not a superior defender by any means. JJ torched many great defenders, almost all of whom play better defense than Durant.. Durant is 6-9 and Chris is barely 6-1! And Durant is a freakish athlete, which means he can guard people on pure talent. Oh yeah, how did JJ do with an athletic Tyrus Thomas?
March 16, 200719 yr Haha you act as if Thomas was on JJ in that game. I agree Chris is a good player, but to say he is a better college player than JJ is just wrong.
March 16, 200719 yr How about you read my posts colfan. Through their Jr. Seasons, they were on basically the same level. That was what I was saying. This thread was about Chris himself and somehow it turned to Chris vs. JJ and Green and Durant.

And if you remember, Chris did drill a DEEP three in the face of Durant earlier this year to help his Vols beat Texas... He had 35 that game too. Lofton is a great scorer and that's about it. He's in the perfect system for that and he takes full advantage. Green is a very good scorer in a slow down system, and your claim to their superior talent is funny if you really believe Lofton is better. Green is BY FAR the best player on that team and they look as good as they do because he's on the floor. And why do you feel the need to blast the guys playing at UT not named Lofton? UT is just as talented as Georgetown when looking at what each want to accomplish. Here's a pop quiz. Better Scorer? I'll give you Lofton, but hold firm Green would be a super star in that system. Better Defender? Better Passer? Better Rebounder? Bigger Match up Problem? Better Leader? Look Chris is a VERY good player and as a scorer there aren't many in the country better at knocking down big shots. But the reality is he's not in the same league as a guy like Green. He doesn't pass well and should have a LOT more assists given the attention you have to pay to him. He doesn't help on the boards. He isn't a lock down defender because of his size and lateral quickness. Why continue to make silly claims that flat out aren't true when you can just let it go at what it is???
