March 16, 200719 yr Everyone (except people from Maysville and now Knoxville) will keep doubting him and he will keep proving his doubters wrong. He will be a starter in the league, just watch. Not I. I also think Lofton will have a long career in the NBA providing he doesn't get injured. I don't like to watch Tenn. but I do enjoy watching Lofton play. I also think he could have played as a WR on the gridiron.
March 16, 200719 yr Lofton will play in the NBA, and contribute. A starter? I'd say no, but there's no shame in being a important cog in a winning team. He can flat out stroke it, but with his size, it will be much harder, note I didn't say he won't be able to, to get his shot off at the next level. As far as the JJ, Lofton comparison, it's a no brainer IMO. Redick was one of the best in a long time at the college level.

I dont think its a no brainer at all...Lofton and Reddick are very similar to each other when has come to their junior season. Except for the fact IMO Lofton is much more clutch than Reddick. Also Reddick definitely never played to great in the NCAA tournaments throughout his career, so if Lofton can show that he can still play great even though teams would be going extra hard to stop him. Then I think it would give Lofton the edge on who is better...

His team was always winning by enough that he didn't have to be.

If you think all Chris does is score you don't watch UT very much. Chris's stats his Jr. year (according to espn.com): 20.6 pts, 3.0 rebs, 1.8 assists, 1.8 turnovers, 1.4 steals JJ's stats his Jr. year (according to espn.com): 21.8 pts, 3.3 rebs, 3.6 assists, 2.5 turnovers, 1.4 steals Looks VERY even to me... and JJ had a MUCH better team.
March 16, 200719 yr Oh yeah I forgot to add that JJ played an average of 8 more minutes a game his Junior year than Chris did....

Those numbers look like JJ had better stats. Lofton will play in the NBA probably in the same role as Redick. I know I wouldn't mind having a back-up 2G gig in the league.

Well as he said Reddick also played more minutes. Redick was not the best defender, and neither is Lofton. And I stick by my statement that Lofton is more clutch, and is a better player in the NCAA tournament. You say Redick didn't have to be clutch because his team was always winning. But look what happened in the NCAA tournament, he never did much and that is why his season usually ended in the sweet 16. Not to mention Reddick had other guys around him, like Sheldon Williams. Lofton is pretty much the only one at UT, yet people still cant stop him. Lofton this year has shown an all around game, and not only shoots well from the outside but is also driving the ball to the basket this year. As I said they are pretty much even in their junior seasons, and well except that Lofton is more clutch and that is a big difference....

They aren't that much better. That is without this years ncaa tournament too. JJ had more assists but he also had better players around him to pass to. JJ also had about one more turnover a game than Chris too. And don't forget JJ played an average of 8 minutes more a game than Chris... Thats almost 1/4 of a game of more PT.

I still don't know what you're trying to prove with the stats. Jeff Green's numbers would probably indicate that Lofton is better, but the only guy in the college game that most would want over Green is Durant. Basically, numbers don't tell the full story. Just because you score a lot of points in college doesn't mean you're going to be a star in the NBA...

He puts points on the board in college. Doesn't mean anything when it comes to being successful at the next level. As far as the debate goes, when I watched Redick play I got the feeling I was watching something special. It's the same way when I see Durant, Oden, and Green. I don't get that feeling watching Lofton.
March 16, 200719 yr You said that JJ did it all. I was proving that he didn't do much more than Chris did, if more at all, and he played more minutes. Where did Green and Durant come from? We were speaking of Chris and JJ. There would only be about 6 or 7 players in the nation that I would want on my team more than Chris, and Jeff Green is not one of them.
