Well what do you have to say for paying $12 for 2 games. When it has always been $5 to see both region semis.

What a joke! 6 bucks even for the little kids. And then clear the gym!! Why? The place wasn't even half full for the first game. I was going to stay for at least the 1st half of the second game, but having my daughter and 4 of her friends in tow that would have come to a tidy sum of 60 bucks for them. Incredible. I hope it wasn't the fine people at Conner that put this in place, because frankly it can be termed as price gouging. BTW Conner: best concessions in NKY. Love the Walking Taco:thumb:

I would think that the price and who got charged 6.00 would have been agreed upon by all participating members at the Regional Draw. Clearing the gym was probably addressed also at the draw. I agree about the concessions. Only thing I didn't like is seeing former Highlands QB and basetball player Jeff Kremer working it. :D

Jeff looked good. Concessions may have fared better if fans were allowed to stay for the second game. There cannot be a good reason to clear that gym between games. How many people stayed for both? Judging from what the mass exodus out to 237 it wasn't many. 6 bucks? 12 for 2 games Even for the youngsters? Highway robber:flame: Money grubbing leeches! Anyone responsible for this; step forward, state your case, then run and hide:madman:

Didn't see a sign either.. Also never saw an entire student body allowed on the floor at halftime either. Would they ever let that happen at the Boy's Regional?? Very poor game management IMO.

Agree whole heartedly. Connor has a reputation of not doing a very good job of running regional tournaments and they lived down to their rep again. Halftime looked like halftime of a 3rd grade game at the local elementary. Also, my understanding is that the idea of charging EVERYONE, meaning very young children was never brought up at the regional meeting.

The 9th only needs 2 sites to run the regionals. Ryle and Holmes seem to be able to handle it quite capably. If the officials at Conner are responsible for these issues simply take the tourney away from them.

It won't be an issue in two years anyway and for this I am going to be very happy. Really can't wait for the new Bank of Kentucky Arena at NKU to open and the Regional games to move there. No longer will the host school have a huge advantage of playing on their home floor and the question of will the home team on the scoreboard get the home side of the gym and locker rooms when they play the host school.....

I guess that is a question to ask someone. If NDA came out of the lower bracket to play Holmes or any other loser from any district who wears the home uniform? NDA or the upper bracket team? I have always thought the district winner would be the home team, over a district loser no matter where each landed on the bracket. Right/Wrong?

It's funny to me that everyone is complaining about the girls running on the floor at half time, yet, no one has ever complained about the regular season games when all these schools allow kids to shoot at half time. Someone explain the difference!

I look at it this way, those girls should not have been allowed on the floor and there should never be anyone allowed to shoot at half time. Our kids, players, only wear their shoes in the gym, therefore, staying clean, to a point. Allowing the general public to come out and shoot at half is wrong. Some gyms are swept at half time but most are not. Boone's gym is swept at half time since one certain parent noticed it was being done for the boys and brought this to the attention of the girls' team, so it must be done for the girls. Conner is swept at half time also but still everyone should be told not to come onto the floor at half.

Clearing the gym is a joke and how much is charged to small kids is questionable. I don't know about now but in the past(10 yrs ago), this was all decided on at the regional meeting by the coaches, don't know how it is done now. Next yr, don't be surprised if Boone host one of the regional tournaments in its new gym. As oldguy eluded to, in two yrs it won't matter.

Those who are complaining about TV coverage are also the ones who complain about lack of coverage in this area.

And if you played close attention you would have noticed that after the first "extended" time out one team did adjust, they stayed on the bench until the first warning buzzer went off. The other team would get up and walk out on the floor way to early because nobody on the coaching staff was paying attention to the ref at the scorers table. This same team also goes out on the floor during regular full time outs way before the first warning, they could use their time during time outs more wisely.

Why did HHS stop playing the sagging zone defense that limited NDA to 16 in the 1st half. They played man to man the whole 2nd half.

I do not think Boone will host a regional tournament, gym does not look to be as big a Ryles. Ryles is the smallest of the 3 followed by Holmes then Conner, Conner being the largest. But maybe, Boones is larger than what it seems.

The difference is this is the Regional Tournament. I also go to several games a year at Highlands and NCC and I don't see little kids shooting at halftime at these gyms. I can't speak for other schools. I agree with not letting anyone on the floor and the look on Mr. Stellman's face while he swept the floor he agrees with you.

Great observation and my thoughts exactly. IMO, NDA does not shoot consistantly well from the outside, especially from three point land w/the exception of CJackson, who is having a rough tourney right now.

Casey, from me to you, keep shooting. Keep your head up and play, your shots will start falling. Dad, make sure you relay this to her as I know you will read this. Good luck tonight.

I think HHS started out in zone but the turnovers on offense led to several fastbreak points and once they got behind they had to come out of the zone.

Boone's gym is suppose to be identical to Ryle's w/maybe a few differences. But size is not one of them

Maybe the NDA girls did this because, if you have ever went to a NDA game at NDA, the gym looks like recess on their floor as it does at St Henry also.

I'm 99.9% sure that they KHSAA sets ticket prices and policy. $6 seems to be the going rate for tournament action in both football and basketball .

Secondly, clearing the gym is the smart thing to do. It gives the fans of all 4 teams playing that night a chance to get in and see the game. If you did not clear the gym, you take the chance of the first game having a huge crowd and not enough of them leaving the game to accomodate the huge crowd for the 2nd game. IF you're a fan trying to get into the 2nd game, you've not going to be very happy if fans from the previous game take your seat.

Quit bashing Conner. They're simply following policy.
