Not sure exactly what's going on with this thread, but...

 

I saw Jimmy John a couple of years ago waiting tables at a Ruby Tuesdays in Lexington. Still looked like he could lace them up.

What was the name of the other good player for WC, was it Julius Green?

What about the guys from M.C. Napier? Baker was the name of one of them, from the mid 80's. Great guys, good ball-players.

MC Napier and Dilce Combs consolidated in the mid-1990s to form Perry County Central. The first year they merged their enrollment was close to 1,400, but today they have around 1,000 students. Buckhorn is another county school but they are located so far away in the northwestern part of the county that it wouldn't be feasible to merge them with PCC.

Hazard is the other school in the county, but they are an independent system.

BTW, Hazard and Perry County were named for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry of early U.S. naval military fame.....thus the name of the school and mascot: Perry County Central Commodores.

I just remember his name from his state tournament team. I always thought his name was kinda cool.

Wasn't MC Napier's mascot a Navajo??

They were the Navajo. That's quite a drop of enrollment.

That would be considered politically insensitive in today's world to be a "Navajo", but MC Napier was a great place to be at a ball game.
