March 5, 200719 yr Hillary Clinton goes to a primary school in New York to talk about the world. After her talk she offers a question time. One little boy puts up his hand. The Senator asks him what his name is. "Kenneth." "And what is your question, Kenneth?" "I have three questions: First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? Third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House?" Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the kids that they will continue after recess. When they resume, Hillary says, "Okay, where were we? Oh, that's right, question time. Who has a question?" A different little boy puts his hand up. Hillary points him out and asks him what his name is. "Larry." "And what is your question, Larry?" "I have five questions: First - whatever happened to the medical health care plan you were paid to develop during your husband's eight years in the office as President? Second - why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office? Third - whatever happened to all those things you took when you left the White House? Fourth - why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? Fifth - what happened to Kenneth?"

The health care program she put forward needed a lot of work, but it was a start. The opposition found it better to attack it without offering an alternative than to negotiate to try to find a solution (See 1994 election). Second, Her husband may have committed some awful acts in his persnal life, but he did a good job as President. Certainly he was far better than the current office holder. Third, All of that "taken stuff" was urban legend. Keep trying. There are good reasons not to want Senator Clinton as the next President, but she would be far better at the job than the current president or for that matter anyone that I see on the Republican side right now.

I'm just so tired of a Bush or Clinton in the White House for 27 years. There has to be someone else in a nation of millions.

March 6, 200719 yr It's a joke. It is a joke that is only funny if you believe lies that have been told. That makes it worthy of a strong response. When these things are treated as "a joke", the first thing you know you have people believing that the basis for the joke is true. Exhibit A is the lie that Al Gore ever claimed to have invented the internet. It stayed out there so long as a joke that people started to repeat it as truth.
March 6, 200719 yr Wow PatDad, you must have struck a nerve. That usually happens when you hit close to home. Pretty funny stuff.
March 6, 200719 yr Author Wow PatDad, you must have struck a nerve. That usually happens when you hit close to home. Pretty funny stuff. I guess so. I only believe what I see. I've heard the "Gore invented the internet" joke a lot. And it's his fault that people joked about it. He did make that claim. I've got another, but you need Power Point to read it.

I've got another, but you need Power Point to read it. See, you have heard that lie so many times that you believe it. It DID NOT HAPPEN. Thank you for making my point that these lies must be refuted, even when they come in the form of a joke. I challenge you to find one time when Gore ever said "I invented the internet" or any form of that statement. You won't because it didn't happen. You believe that it did because you have heard so many people say it that the lie takes on a life of its own. Let's look at your joke. First it has the false statements that Mrs. Clinton was paid to develop a health care system. Second it has the false statement that the Clintons took a bunch of stuff that didn't belong to them and third it has an undercurrent of the old lie that if you do something the Clintons don't like you will disapear.
March 6, 200719 yr Wow PatDad, you must have struck a nerve. That usually happens when you hit close to home. Pretty funny stuff. WOW! By your logic, we can either leave a lie unrefuted or prove the lie by refuting it. Now that logic is funny stuff.
