It's one thing to cheer and support your team it's another thing to make a complete...you know what out of yourself.:devil:

I was at a boys game this year where about 15 students were allowed to stand on the sidelines so close to the gym that occassionally they would actually go over the line to scream at the opposing teams players. They were allowed to do that until half-time when the opposing team had to go by them to get to their locker-room...they crused them and screamed at them so badly that that team's coach actually went over to them and asked them to stop. A parent of a player finally saw the A.D. and approached him at half-time about the situation in which the A.D. went to the students and told them either they set down or leave....they opted to leave. My only question is why did it take an entire half for the problem to be remedy?

It is even worse when adults act this way.

I was also at the game and I thought both sides went a little overboard. I didn't see any action from the refs or school administrators until near the end of the game when a crowd tried to gather under the basket during free throw attempts with 2.4 seconds left in a one point. I noticed quite a bit of chit chat from the players into the opponents cheering section and this should never be allowed. I thought the coach should have stopped this behavior immediately. I was surprised the refs didn't stop it.

I'll give credit to the 31st District folks. They blocked off the first 3 rows behind the bench for both teams so things like this wouldn't happen.

Necessity or not, it was a good move to have 3 rows open.

I was at a game tonight (girls game, but no ones talking over there). There was a group of young men ( football team ) stationed just behind the opposing team. .

 

 

I don't understand why the opposing crowd is seated behind the other team's bench. 99.9% of the time you are behind your team's bench.

The same thing happened at the Boys' Semifinals at Cawood Thursday night with the Bell County's student section behind Middlesboro, however, they were not out of hand by any means. I am not taking up for the Cawood Student Section, but the bleachers are right behind the benches. The Cawood Student Section was out of control. Clapping in Coach Mitchell's ears and the same to the Assistant Coaches. Coach Middleton told the principal in the 3rd quarter and all he done was made them move up a bleacher and then they came back down after he was out of sight. It was a awful. The same thing happened with their student section when Cumberland played them in January. Their student section was making fun of the Cumberland Cheerleaders and all. It got so bad that Cumberland parents' had to complain to the Assistant Principal because the Principal was nowhere to be found. Something needs to be done to correct the situation at Cawood.

It's okay to have some fun at the game, but some of these chants and saying are out of bounds.

 

Such as calling a player fat when he's at the line...Or chanting cheeseburger or somthing like that. Somthing that lowers a persons morale and feelings shouldn't be allowed.

To clear it up: warning, technical, ejection of offenders, forfeit.

sorry, but that didn't compare with what I was talking about. The worse behavior was behind the girls as I said origninally. What struck me about the under the goal incident, was that they were quick to stop something that may have affected their kids, but let their folks curse, flip off, and totally disrupt the other team's kids.
