March 2, 200719 yr Bashing Pitino is not going to make UKs situation any better. Whether you love Tubby or hate him, no matter what side of the fence you are on, it is what it is. Trying to deflect that on UL and Pitino is feeble. UK fans could learn a lot from UL fans about supporting your team and your coach when the chips are down. I'm not talking about accepting mediocrity, but it is possible to want better and be supportive at the same time. I've gone on the record as saying if PP and JL sign then Tubby is showing signs of turning it around and I will support him again. However, I still root and cheer for KY just like I would if they were good.
March 2, 200719 yr That you aren't going to win every game, you aren't going to make every Final Four, and your team isn't going to be at the top of the polls...Some find that too hard to swallow, thus creating your divided fan base... :thumb: Well said!!
March 2, 200719 yr I think you're missing the point of the tread. A thread to bash Rick Pitino, because UK fans are tired about hearing their own problems?????

March 2, 200719 yr I feel the same way about him when he was UK's coach. Awesome coach, don't like him. Gives me the feeling of a used car salesman. Not completely trustworthy.
March 2, 200719 yr I agree 100%. KY was in terrible shape when Rick came to Lexington. Rick recruited great players and made a great program. He ran the ball and put guys in the pros. He made Magloire a pro. Remember AW double doubling in college. He doesn't play like that in the pros, it was his coach. Walker, in his prime, was one of the best in the league stat-wise. He's past his prime and is not only a role player. To say he wasn't as good in the NBA as college is inaccurate.
March 2, 200719 yr Once in a great while yeah it is OK. Now if we are in the same position next year then we will talk. Which is what I said last year. I thought this team was very promising at the beginning of the year, but they've made a turn for the worst.

And I lay the blame at an overrated Junior class. If those three play CONSISTENTLY to the level they were touted and probably should be playing, UK should be top 20 easily and pushing top 10.

Overrated yes, but they still give us a lot more than the sophomores and seniors.
March 2, 200719 yr Pitino is on fire right now, I get the point of this thread, but i must say it was posted with terrible timing.
March 2, 200719 yr Tubby has a more recent national title than Pitino does. lol Yes, I'm aware that Tubby won it with Rick's players, I'm just saying. : ) I doubt you can find a coach who, in their first year, say, "I refuse to win the national championship because these are not players I recruited." A title is a title is a title. :ylsuper:
March 2, 200719 yr Telfair went pro for Telfair, Rondo went to UK because of Telfair, and Rick offered C-Lo a scholly.
March 2, 200719 yr C-A-T-S This may be the funniest thread that I have ever reed.        :laugh:
