Mustang Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Final Scott led handily through most of the second half until they got hung up on 46 points for forty days and forty nights late in the game allowing Campbell County to close to within four at 46-42 at about a minute out. A couple of Scott free-throws and a couple of missed 3-pointers by Campbell, mothballs the Camels and sends the Eagles to the 37th District finals on Saturday night and gets them a berth in the 10th Region Big Dance next week. Brossart and Silver Grove will battle for the lone remaining spot in the 10th Region Tournament. They play on WEdnesday night at 7:30pm at the Campbell County Middle School.

Old Soda Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Because its the largest gym in the district and has great parking areas as well.
Mustang Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 Will you broadcast it? Live on the web - Girls game starting at 5:50pm vs Calvary Christian. Boys game vs Silver Grove to follow. Live Broadcast - Brossart Girls vs Calvary Christian and Brossart Boys Vs Silver Grove
Tiger1 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 The Eagles missed quite a few free throws tonight especially Sharp who went 6 of 14. The announcer said Sharp had 27 points for Scott and Verst had 25 for CC. I thought Scott's Kenny Felts played a really nice game tonight. He didn't score a lot (4points), but this kid gave everything he had with great hustle and tough nose rebounding & defense. Ryne Smith and Danny Miller did not shoot well tonight, but they will turn it around on Saturday. Nick Hiller came in and played some quality minutes tonight....I for one was very glad to see this from Nick tonight and hopefully he keeps it up on Saturday.
Mustang Posted February 28, 2007 Author Posted February 28, 2007 Because its the largest gym in the district and has great parking areas as well.Great venue for the tournament. Last year the coaches of the district voted to host it at the Campbell County Middle School through 2010.
Tiger1 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Because its the largest gym in the district and has great parking areas as well. I agree.:thumb:
CAMEL1 Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Sad to see our Camels go down tonight, but after the rocky start and what seemed to be struggles. I think we bounced back and pulled it together. I don't think anyone expected us to dominant anything, but many felt we could be players in the end. Scott outplayed us at the end. Congrats to Coach Carr as they prepare for probably BBHS and the 10th region tourney next week. To our Camels and Coach Reitz, I see a great amount of promise in your future. I think if we make good choices in selecting players next year, we could see a Camel team do well in the fieldhouse. The future looks bright for camel basketball, and I look forward to Coach Reitz making next year better.

I agree you do have some nice young players and they should make some noise in the coming years. But, I did hear someone say last night that Coach Reitz is retiring. Any truth to this?
SirMixAlot Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Nate Sharp did what he wanted, when he wanted. He hits his foul shots he has 30+. Campbell is much improved from last team, but inexperience and Scott's defense killed them. #5 for the Camels had to have 10+ turnovers. Why did we not see more of Walker, Scott could not get anything done offensively when he was in the game. All in all great win for Scott, Bring it home Saturday and go in the the regionals on a good note.
4pointplay Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Scott struggled offensively, but defense was outstanding. Seemed like Felts and Smith were everywhere on the court with defensive stops, creating turnovers and getting to loose balls. Not trying to knock Mosier from Dixie for winning the Hustle Award for the NKAC but I don't think I have seen two players play with more effort than those two from Scott.
CAMEL1 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I agree you do have some nice young players and they should make some noise in the coming years. But, I did hear someone say last night that Coach Reitz is retiring. Any truth to this? I think that talk is just 10th region rumor mill. Coach Reitz has a son that will be a junior next year at Harrison. He came up here for part of freshman year, but went back. I have heard Kendell is moving to girls, and Reitz is going back to Harrison. I have even heard that he is going to retire from coaching and stay in teaching. My only thought is that the superintendent hired Reitz when he was still principal. I saw them sitting together before the game, if anyone knows, i am betting on the super!!

But I did hear the rumors and I have to think it's nothing more than some wishful and frustrated parents talking.
CAMEL1 Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 Hope not! But I did hear the rumors and I have to think it's nothing more than some wishful and frustrated parents talking. Not in Campbell County!!
