February 22, 200719 yr Author Do you know who pitched for both teams? MSU MABEE, Henry L,0-1 LEE, Tyler BARNES, Josh BESS, Tyler Georgetown Slusher W,2-0 Roberts Williams
February 22, 200719 yr Looks like Georgetown has a very good team. I think you're backwards - looks like Morehead has a very bad team.
February 22, 200719 yr NKY players had a nice day: CCH's Eric Severson was 2/4 keeping his avg. at 500 after 4 games. Beechwood's Slusher picked up the W. Beechwood's Eric Sawyer was 2/4.
February 22, 200719 yr MSU needs to stick Quentin Morgan/Pitcher (Freshman from Leslie County) in the game & see how he stacks up against the competition
February 22, 200719 yr Another classic example of why the common thought that D1 is always bigger and better when it comes to baseball doesnt carry much merit. There are some out there that will snub their noses at NAIA for the simple fact it doesn't carry that D1 label, but there are some pretty dang good players playing in the state's NAIA baseball programs.Congrats to Georgetown. I would like to hear 13th Analysts thoughts on this game.
February 22, 200719 yr If Georgetown keeps their roster in place for the next 2 years, I don't see why they can't make a run at an NAIA championship. They are extremely young and started 7/8 freshmen on a regular basis last season. If that group stays together, never know what they could do.

You're right. DI's don't always get the better players. They, also, don't have the budget to go after the best players. Neither do the junior colleges, but they find a way to get higher caliber players. If you have a HS baseball player the caliber of a Jeter or Pujos, they're getting drafted. And those that aren't just there yet, can go the NAIA, NJCAA, or JUCO route. In hopes of getting drafted that next year or beyond. Go look at current MLB rosters. You'll see a good mix of guys that were drafted right out of high school, or played on the junior college level. Not saying that DI players aren't good enough, you'll just see more junior college players.

Same as any 4 year NCAA school, but I know where you were coming from.
February 23, 200719 yr Bracken Co.'s Tyler Bess goes 3 innings, and has 4 K's while giving up just 1 ER... nice outing Tyler!
February 23, 200719 yr does anybody know what Chas Moore did in their 4 games this year? Nothing so far, seems he didn't make the trip to Georgia and has only batted one time so far without playing any in the field.

I can't see them competing for the NAIA Championship until they can get past University of the Cumberlands and Campbellsville. They do have a nice young team, but the chances of them all staying together may be slim. They lost 16 of the 41 Freshmen they brought in last year.n They are still missing some big sticks, if they can add some big sticks, they will be very competitive.
