SSF--Is Tim Stephens the only member of the 2,000 point club on the boy's side? The group that had Joe Lindsay, Terry Tapley, and Dester Terry that won the 12th Region started together for I want to say 3 years. I was wondering if any of those guys were in there as well.

Yeah, I did. I don't think any of them got to 2,000 points, but I have no idea. I could try to look into it, but I don't know what else I could do.

Before Coach Jones took over the program the coach who was there before him seem to have misplaced or destroyed all of the stats from previous years. So now there is no way to look at all the stats from previous years. Who knows what he was thinking.

I was thinking that Tim Stephens had over 3,000 points. It is listed in a trophy case just outside the gym.

McCreary Central freshman Aaron Watts joined the 1,000 point club Monday night with a win at Taylor County.

It sounds like he is on the same track as the Euton kid from Rose Hill, which is also a freshmen. He just scored his 1,300 point last week. However, he did play varsity as a 7th grader.

 

I can see Euton ans Watts playing at the major D-1 level, if they continue to work hard.

Wow that is amazing. He will put up big numbers the older he gets.

An answer to the question about Watts playing defense: YES he does. He had over 80 steals during his 8th grade season and leads the team in steals again this year and is among one of the better rebounders on the team to boot.

To follow up on the comments about him not being a gunner, did anyone see all the shots he passed on to make the extra pass against Williamsburg? He still wound up with 34 points in that game.

The coach that destroyed the records was Roscoe Denney, now at South Laurel.

Congrat on the accomplishment! If he keeps this pace up he will be one of the all time leaders in points scored in state history.
