I thank everyone for their opinion. That's what this board is about. I have many different thing planned. Like I said, It's not just about the 8th region, but rather the WHOLE area. Whether it's having a sports medicine show before football practice starts, to having coaches and players call in, to just taking calls about different programs. I really think it can work. If not..............oh well.

The Challenger's problem is they should've gone daily, like I talked about.

And they should have made you pay for it.

The Post shot itself in the foot repeatedly over the years by not properly recognizing an audience it already had access to. All they had to do was shift their coverage south and they would've been one of the bigger moneymakers in the Scripps organizatiion. Instead they chose to compete with the Enquirer in Cincy while remaining an afternoon daily. Dumb-de-dumb-dumb.

 

And today's newspaper startups — or at least the one I'd like to see — can't win on a strictly print basis. They must offer exceptional content on the Web, such as video, photos and other Web extras to keep the customers coming back.

 

And finally, you're probably OK with the coverage the Post and Enquirer have given you because you've never known what proper coverage of the area is. You've been settling for less because you've known nothing else. There's no reason a paper can't cover the entire area I aforementioned, and do it economically and adequately.This isn't my original idea, but the idea of a longtime Kentucky newspaperman who worked in prominent positions at the Ky Post, the Paducah Sun, the Memphis Commercial-Appeal and others. He's the one who planted it in my head, and I know that with his guidance we could make it work, and work to the point that the Enquirer wouldn't bother with NoKy because they'd have no chance to compete.

 

Folks, you've been settling for less for too long, especially in the areas outside the I-275 loop. You could have a more comprehensive coverage of your area, and you deserve it. We just need the start-up money. There's already huge potential for talent-mining at NKU.

I really don't care whether ohio stations cover the eighth region or not but why am I forced to be saddled with stations that literally serve me no purpose. I have argued and argued with direct tv about this but they have no clue.......Boo these stations and boo Direct Tv
