In all of the games that I've seen, Preston has conducted himself to the utmost,he always lets his game do the talking. This suspension(or whatever) and public calling out of him in the state's major newspaper is very dissapointing and somewhat shocking, especially on the coach's behalf. Am sure he has his reasons, but the newspaper thing is a no-no on any playing level. Keep things in -house. Have always compared Knowles demeanor to Lofton's,so don't see where this is coming from. Can any Cardinal fans in the know PM me? Thanks.

Why would it not be in the paper. He is a top 10 player in the state and him being in uniform but not on the floor is news whether some like it or not. If it wasnt news, it wouldnt have been brought up early in the thread.:sssh:

Not talking about last night's game, but the one before where Knowles was critcized in the Lexington Herald by the coach and taken out of the game.

GRC has been banged around a little in the last 2 weeks or so and it is hard for a great competitor to hold their composure when that happens. Of the 3 or 4 games I have seen the kid play he has always been respectable and competetive. I am not around the program everyday but if someone knows something we are not seeing PM me and share the knowledge. I think the kid is the best basketball talent to come in Winchester in several years.

Stats from the game.

Lafayette 18 21 18 26 — 83

Clark 20 22 21 19 — 82

LAFAYETTE (10-15) — Stewart 33m Langfels 4, Gifford 26, Bauman 2, Linton 4, Sanford 10, Morris 4.

CLARK (19-7) — Hatton 14, Davis 2, Rogers 6, Wood 9, Stenzel 5, Bennett 16, Jones 30.

Glad to have Evan Bennett have a good night. He just got out of a cast from a wrist injury. and did not play in the Mason Co game. He is our best free throw shooter and is dead with the 3 pointer. Also noticed that the bandage that Tristian had been wearing was much smaller last night.

Thanks Gold for talking about the postive things that many of the Clark Co players are doing instead getting caught up in the negative speculations. The team is comprised of a good group of young men that are under the microscope called Ky basketball. Go Cards and keep playing hard!:thumb:

I don't see how you could even begin to compare Knowles to Lofton. Chris Lofton was NEVER benched by any coach for disciplinary reasons. Yes Knowles can play ball, I've seen that first hand, but he is no Chris Lofton!!! :irked:

Wesley Jones with a little more talent comes to my mind!

:thumb: Knowles is a good player, but his attitude is nothing like Lofton's....

Did you see the game at Montgomery County? He got a technical, got rattled, shot poorly and turned the ball over probably 10 times. He seemed like he had an attitude that ame.

Did you happen to see what made him do that as well?? He was sticking up for one of his players, a MC player got in his teammates face.... This is a thread to talk about the game, not about critiquing Preston.

Him not playing was probably a pretty big factor in this game. Which goes back to why he wasnt playing, which goes back to his attitude. Good for him for sticking up for a teammate, but not at the expense of the team by getting a technical and giving the other team points and a personal foul on him.

The Clark Co. team played some of the best team ball offensively they have played for several games. Lots of heart and determination, just came up a little short at the end. Would love to see the replay on the blocking call with 8 seconds left, sure was a questionable call. When it is a seesaw battle in that close of a game, anything can happen at the end.

But still have to love the efforts of the players that dressed and played in the game. Keep up the good teamwork guys!!!:thumb: :thumb:

I agree, I thought the teamwork was the best I've seen in a while. We had good hustle ,made some good passes, took a high % of good shots ,but was a little weak on defense(allowed too many layups) and free throw shooting was not the best . Just a few mistakes at the end cost us the game, but that happens. GREAT EFFORT:fight:
