2026 Mr. Football Watchlist (10/5)

🗞️ Headlines 📰
- X marked the spot for the second straight week. Zane Johnson threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns to vanquish Ohio's Xaverians. He's now on the doorstep of Trinity's record for career touchdown passes, trailing Brian Brohm by two.

- As if opponents needed something else to worry about, the scope of Seneca Driver's skillset has been expanded to include his arm. He threw, caught, and rushed for touchdowns against St. X. Altogether, he accounted for four scores and 108 receiving yards in his primary role as a pass catcher.

- Ja'Hyde Brown is closing in on 5 ⭐ status as a top national prospect. He caught eleven balls for 122 yards and three more touchdowns against DeSales, giving him 22 on the year as he chases the single season record.

- Kade Goodin had an "off night' by his recent superhuman standard, accounting for 350 yards and five total touchdowns against North Laurel. He completed 23/27 passes, earning him the 'William Tell Marksmanship Award' 🎯.

- Dre'Mail Carothers lit up Hancock County for 416 yards and seven touchdown passes. He has more touchdown passes (13) than incompletions (12) over the last two weeks.

- Efficiency is the name of the game right now for Tyler Fryman. He scored two rushing touchdowns on three carries, took an interception back for a score, and had 101 receiving yards against Walton-Verona.

- Timmy Emongo has also tapped that efficiency vein, scoring four touchdowns on seven touches against Anderson County.

- Dakari Talbert carried the Douglass offense against Male, rushing for 257 yards and four scores. He was ejected late in the game, costing him a prime opportunity this week against fellow unbeaten Madison Central.

I'm not the least bit creeped out by the hand on his right shoulder. 😳

Old people and AI are a dangerous combination. I could've just told you it was an early Halloween gesture. But, the original picture had a scary old guy that no one wants to see. Trust me on that. 🎃

Thank you for giving us a vivid example of the dangers of AI.

We know the KHSAA hasn't updated its Records/Stats list in several years. Looking at QB stats from 2019-2026 (1,138 players), here are updated TDs and yards. Four new QBs should be added to the top 10 by the end of the season.

6 Players from the 2020s are in the updated top 10. *Jack James played for five years (2020 - COVID). Zane Johnson is now sitting at #15.

Looking at remaining games and potential games, I project that Zane Johnson will finish with 137 TDs +/- 5, new #6

Kade Goodin currently has 101 TDs and will pull ahead of Zane in the regular season, but fall behind during the playoffs; he should finish with 132 TDs +/- 5 new #10

Dremail Carothers currently has 92 TDs, and his projected to end with 125 TDs +/- 5 new #14

CAL, Junior Jackson Burke, currently has 101 TDs and is projected to finish with 149 TDs +/- 5, and should be the new #2.
