The Tomcats of Ashland Blazer are 7-0 and rolling through the district, coming off a blowout win over Rowan County. Though not always consistent this year, when their offense has had a good night it really has shown to be dominant. They have had some nights where the endzone has been harder to find, but they still have stayed in the win column.

Now comes rival Boyd County. This was a blowout last year and doesn't seem to be set up much differently this year. If the Tomcats can execute and get the win here, only Johnson County will stand in the way of an undefeated district record.

Believe it or not, Boyd County actually held the series lead 25 games in. The Lions clung to a narrow 13-12 advantage over the city school before the Tomcats took the rivalry by the throat and Boyd dropped off, sharply.

Ashland has won the last 22 in a row and 34 of the last 37.

Cannonsburg will celebrate late into the night when the Lions eventually snap the streak. I just don't see it happening this week. Ashland, big.

Boyd County is massive up front so a huge dose of ball control is in order. This will slow the game but the Tomcat athletes eventually make the plays to pull out another win. Ashland by a couple scores.

I have a feeling that Ashland is going to have an easier time pulling away tonight than they did against Greenup. As you said, Boyd has a lot of size, but I look for Ashland's superior quickness to consistently beat Boyd to the punch.

Touchdown Ashland.... methodical 55 yard opening drive by the Tomcats.

Daylen Farrow houses the ensuing kickoff following a Boyd touchdown.
