St Henry middle school program has been outstanding over the last couple years. Good numbers, good coaching, good community support - it will be interesting to see how this program continues to develo

Walton-Verona and St. Henry have played two common opponents. St. Henry beat Brossart and lost to Boone County. Walton Verona lost to Brossart, but beat Boone County. So I would say it most likely wil

I assume this is the last game between these two schools with St. Henry moving up to 3A in 2027?

Also, if I am Beechwood there is no way I want to play St. Henry the next couple of years. I would take two years off and the revisit maybe playing the Crusaders.

Anyone?

Was very curious how the JV game would play out considering Beechwood's JV QB was at St. Henry last year but knew he wasn't the QB of the future, but Beechwood cancelled. St. Henry is super solid in classes 9 and 10, and have maybe their best class coming in next year. I hope they reschedule this game so St. Henry can see where they are as a program. Their Varsity team is mainly sophomores so we will see how they do over the next couple of years. The Varsity game will be ugly this year as it will be with anyone in that district.

Wrong. They only have a couple Seniors.

I believe you have it backwards. Was told St. Henry canceled due to injuries at certain positions.

Thanks for that. I was thinking it would make no sense for Beechwood to cancel.

Beechwood is a machine, and their coaching staff reloads rather than rebuilds. A great freshman and sophmore class at St. Henry is an awesome foundation, but matching Beechwood's culture, discipline, and scheme execution takes years. It's going to be fascinating to see if St. Henry's staff can adapt and close that schematic gap over the next two or three seasons. I'd still take Beechwood regardless how good St. Henry's younger classes might be.

Did some double checking --Beechwood most certainly did not cancel, Beechwoods JV guys were ready to roll. Pretty sure the JV game was looked at last year as a potential St. Henry win ...but it was 34 to 0 or 37 to 0 (sorry ...memory doesn't work like it used to!) at the half when St. Henry requested shorter quarters.

Crazy to think that Beechwood would even entertain the thought of canceling a JV game against St. Henry. Definitely didn't happen.

I stand corrected, that is true. Wasn't trying to imply anything-I hope they can fit this in before end of season.

This is why I don't post on here much-that was never the point. The point was the game was cancelled and so there is no game Saturday. If it came from the St. Henry side....cool. ..who cares...irrelevant. Doesn't matter who it came from.

No, St. Henry did not have the horses last year to compete with BW in the JV game because all of St. Henry varsity starters were Freshman and Sophomores. They either didn't play in the JV game or played minimally after playing on a Friday night.

The depth of this program is starting to show. Tonight is going to be a beat down, and go ahead and enjoy.

@Bluesport Beechwood freshman play St Henry Freshmore in a few weeks.

Good luck tonight!
