The undefeated Ashland Blazer Tomcats coming rolling down to Rowan County to continue their unbeaten streak. They will face a 4-1 Viking squad coming off a bye. The Vikings have been in high scoring affairs and they have been in rock fights. What they haven't seen yet is a team as complete and talented as Ashland.

This was a 54-0 Ashland win last year. There is zero doubt in my mind that Rowan County has improved from last year. They are still not in the same stratosphere as this Ashland team.

Trevonte Taylor has been dazzling on the ground, including two fantastic long touchdown runs in last week's win over Greenup. Rowan County is just not going to have an answer for what Ashland can do to them offensively.

The best defense for Rowan County will be to milk the play clock at every conceivable moment when on offense. Rowan has a better club this year and a dandy running back but 54 points is a lot to make up. To avoid a blowout, take your time, run the ball a lot, kick and punt the ball out of bounds, and hope for turnovers. A defensive lapse or two by the Tomcats (which has been happening) and the final score could be respectable.

The Tomcats win.

Rowan Co takes the opening kickoff and then fumbles on their own 5 on the 2nd play from scrimmage. Taylor takes it in from the 5. Ashland 7 Rowan Co 0

Rowan Co comes right back with about a 30 yard TD pass.

This Ashland defense isn't very good TBH.

You don't hear that very often. Strong defense has been a hallmark of Ashland football under Love and Tackett.

Rowan kicks it out of bounds. Tomcat will start on their own 35 yard line.

Stutler fumbles on a third down and Rowan Co. will take over at the Ashland 36 yard line

Rowan County with another big touchdown pass but it is called back due to ineligible man downfield

Rowan County give the ball right back to Ashland with a fumble and the Tomcats will take over on about the 50 yard line

Strader with a 14 yard run on a jet sweep.

I don't know what's on the field more tonight yellow flags or the football. What an ugly game so far.
