Biggest thing for all scrimmages: Hope both teams come out of it healthy.

For Beechwood fans, I see two things to be focused on in this scrimmage: Offensive line Defense with Coach Rash back in charge.

To me the top 3 teams in NKY this year will be Highlands, CovCath, and Beechwood. With Ryle most likely at number 4. Ryle still has talent, but that senior class that just graduated was great. So I t

Ryle didn't do anything on offense, Beechwood got the ball deep in Ryle territory and missed a FG. 27 seconds left, Ryle has the ball, and I guess when the time runs out we are done.

Ryle completed a long pass and is down to the Beechwood 41 with 8 seconds left on the scoreboard.

Coach Rash is really coaching the Tigers up and I would be too here, no reason to let down now right at the end.

#50 with about a 20 yard run to the Ryle 11.

I don't know who is playing or not playing for Ryle but so far this Ryle teams looks no where near the Ryle teams of the last couple of years.

Which is kind of what I was alluding to in my post this off season. I am sure Ryle has talent to work with still. But I think to many people were underselling just how special that senior class was for Ryle. That group was winning at a high level their whole lives. So while Ryle may have talent still and I think they will be fine once they get experience. It just isn’t going to be the same, simply because that group was just special.

Also I will add Beechwood is just that good. Beechwood offense is still going to be great and now that Rash is back their defense should be even better. As their defense wasn’t bad under Volker but if they had a weak link to attack it was their defense. With Rash back their defense will be even better.

Beechwood did look very good. On Ryle, no way they are #4 in NKY right now.

How did Fryman do?

Fryman probably scores every play he catches a pass.

We won’t ever know, Fryman is in California at a MLB scouting event this week.

I don't think Fryman played, see above.

I guess I may of felt sorry for Ryle if he did.

Wow just think if Fryman played.

The Guru was on target with his comments throughout the thread above. Ryle has work to do. When the teams lined up for the first snap of the night, I was stunned at the lack of size for the Ryle defense. I never would have expected Beechwood to be bigger than Ryle up front.

Beechwood did not look sharp but it is the first scrimmage. The Tigers will get better. Despite the rough spots, Beechwood controlled the action between the varsity squads from start to finish. It was great to see Coach Rash back in action on the Beechwood sideline.

Beechwood is Beechwood. They are a GREAT team year in year out. When Fryman is out there, watch out opposing D's. Scary stuff.

Ryle may be "down" this year- they are still a 6A school. Best of luck to the Tigers this year. @theguru the engines are running at full throttle. Watch out 2A.

Right now I think you can toss up like 6 names and any one of them could be number 4. You have Highlands, CovCath, Beechwood and then the rest.
