Heading out in a couple of hours to head to GABP have a reservation at the Boat House for pregame meal. I am afraid that may be the highlight of the evening. lol

Reds trailing 7-0 in the middle of the 8th. Painful watching. Abbott pitched well leaving with a 1-0 score. Then the bullpen happened - allowed 6 runs in the 7th. Suspect defense ignited the Mariners.

The game tonight will be broadcast on ESPN at 8:00pm.

Reds give up a run in the top of the 1st inning after Crow started the game with a walk stole 2nd went to 3rd on a sac fly then on bloop to short center field and miscommunication Steer dropped a sliding catch. Then after a strikeout Abbott gives up a double to put the Cubs up 2-0. Also, Abbott threw 31 pitches in the opening inning.

8-4 Cubs heading to the 9th, not good.

I think we were just 3-6 on this important 9 game home stand. Just horrible I have come to your side @4 Quartersthis season is gone. We were 20-12 at the end of April and I believe tied for first place in the NL Central. The next 10 weeks saw the Reds go 23-40 to go into the All-Star break at 43-52 and are the 11th place team out of 15 in the National League and the 24th overall out of the 30 teams in the majors. The Bengals season cannot get here soon enough.?‍♂️

let's hope the Bengals haven't been over hyped like the Reds were in the off season.  The Reds will need some major changes to improve.

We talk a lot about pitching especially the bullpen, but did some looking and at the All-Star break at 43-52 the Reds have 898 strikeouts that's right 898 K's that is an average of 9.45 per game. At that rate they are on par to have 1532 strikeouts this season. The 898 K's is the 3rd most in the Majors the only 2 worse are the Pirates at 907 and the Angels 917.  The top 3 for the Reds on K's is Stewart with 87, Suarez with 96 and Elly leads the way with 97 K's and missed about 3 weeks of the season.

I believe Stewart will clean up his K's with time, but with Suarez and Cruz that's just part of their game.

True but as a team you are not going to score many runs when you are averaging almost 10 K's a game.

So true, this team has so many players that just doesn't make the grade to be in MLB, and there are several other teams in the same boat.

Reds begin 9 game road trip this evening with 3 games with the Rockies, then 3 at Seattle, and finish up with 3 at St. Louis. Tonight's game is at 8:40pm.

Reds lead 1-0 after 2 innings. Stewart drives in Elly with a double in the first inning.
