Pete Carroll to the Chargers?

Featured Replies

It never even crossed my mind....this is a natural fit for him...I like San Diego but if he were the head coach, I would like for nothing more than losing seasons.

Pro Football Talk is saying Carroll wil be the Chargers next coach.

^ Now...with the gamut of coaches having been taken.....can USC stay on top this next season.

Yeh if the Trojans are under investigation,... now could be a good time for ole Carroll to get while the gettin is good.

Former Morehead Coach Rex Ryan interviewed yesterday.

I'd love to see Singletary get this job, and I think it's perfect for Carrol. With that said the more I break it down the more Rivera makes sense,,,

Carroll Not Talking About Chargers

Trojans insider Scott Wolf noted in his blog today that Pete Carroll said, when asked about the Chargers job said, "I've got nothing for you. I'm not talking about it." Some might believe this is an admission that Carroll does have a deal worked out with the Chargers. Or maybe it just means that Carroll is not talking about it.

Petros Papadakis, one of the most respected Trojans insiders out here in Southern California, indicated that Carroll is going to eventually go back to the NFL, and that the Chargers would be a logical choice. From the coaching side, sure, that makes a lot of sense. But unless A.J. Smith is fired or relinquishes all control of the team, it is unlikely that Carroll would make the jump because of not-so-little things such as money and control.

For all of A.J. Smith's faults, you have to admit he has acquired some pretty good players and talent.

The Chargers are stacked with young talent so most every coach would have to listen to this offer....

I believe that Rex Ryan will get the job.

I would wait to leave until Joe McKnight leaves and perhaps a few more NCAA Championships.

It would have been a better move for the Front office to go with Carroll rather than Ol' Norv...what were they thinking?

Carroll wanted autonomy...the Chargers refused that.

Ok, but I still dont see as to why they went with Turner. His tenure at Oakland was horrific and even though he had some luck being the offensive coordinator in San Fran, at times during the season that offense seemed...well..."offensive." :sssh:

IMO, I think they could have picked a better canidate.

^ well, Marty was almost completely hands off and they were 14-2...with another 1-2 good moves by the front office, this team should be able to make the AFC Championship coachless.
