53-45 Great Crossing final. A 2 point 2nd quarter and just over 50% from the line was not going to get it done. Congrats to the Warhawks on the 3rd straight regional championship!

Brady Orem led Great Crossing with 25 points including nine of 11 free throws, 13 rebounds, two assists, and three blocked shots.  Travanti Cooper added 11 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals.  Aslam Ismail recorded six points on six of eight from the free throw line, three rebounds, and two assists.  Colt Delimpo chipped in with five points and Graham Swartz recorded four points, four rebounds, and two assists.

DeMarcus Surratt led Frederick Douglass with 21 points including 12 of 14 from the free throw line, four rebounds, and two assists.  Tate Robinson added eight points including two three point baskets.  Nate Coen recorded seven points, two rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Thurman Wade chipped in with four points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

Great Crossing outscored Frederick Douglass 13-2 in the second quarter.

I could feel this coming.  FD beats the best team in the region who had an injury problem.  Then falls to a lesser team.

Great Crossing was not that much of a lesser team they lost at Madison Central at full strength by 1 at 57-56 in late January. Plus they played a very good schedule and improved as the season went on.
