Boyle County 51 Somerset 48 OT (12th Region Quarterfinals)

Featured Replies

What a start to the tournament. Boyle hits a 3 with 14 seconds left in regulation to send it to overtime. They prevail by 3. Gritty win.

Somerset looked like the better team for about the first 28 minutes. But Boyle made the plays down the stretch and Driver really came up big on defense even the Rebels needed it.

Kudos to Boyle Co.  They made the winning plays.  Good athletes, and Webb made a huge shot to send it into OT.

That was just a dagger of a shot by Webb.

Happy for Webb! I’m sure it wasn’t easy with his dad stepping away as the head coach this last offseason.

On a blown coverage.  You don’t sink on the drive up 3, and allow the pitch out 3.  Those mistakes will get you beat in March.  I do want to thank these Somerset SRs for the fun ride.  They represented the school and community well, and won alot of ballgames along the way.

Boyle had a good game plan but for most of the night Somerset countered it well.  It was an interesting game of moves and counter moves.

I thought once the clock got down under 30 seconds, with Somerset only having one team foul, the Jumpers would start fouling as the Rebels tried to start their offense to shorten the amount of time that they had to run a play.  But I can also see why they didn't.  Great season, hated to see it end.

Sometimes unfortunately, you tell teenagers to do things and it doesn't get done.  It can be drilled and hammered in, but sometimes the moment overtakes the training.

100%.  Even with that, it still took a great shot by Boyle.  Both teams played their tails off.
