February 12, 200719 yr Duke will finish up with 1-2 suprising wins here in the end of the regular season...I would like to say that they'll win the ACC tourney in St. Pete, but no dice... I think that they'll win their first game in the ACC tourney, and their second...then they will lose to UNC in the semi's...no worries, they will likely go in as a 4 seed....if they are a 5, I will be scared to death...with that, they can work some first weekend magic, but will be gone in the Sweet 16, due to a lack of long athletes. Will be extremely difficult for Duke to garner a 4 seed at this point. With their remaining schedule the will likely have 10 or 11 losses going into the NCAA's. I do not see Duke beating BC on the road, UNC on the road, or Clemson on the road(possible but not likely). They should beat Maryland and Georgia Tech at home, and St. John's on the road. They would be 7-9 in the league if this plays out. To be a 4 seed Duke would need to win probably 2 of those three league games on the road and go to the finals of the ACC tourney which would still give them 9 losses and a 9-7 league record. Just took a quick glance at the NCAA record book and #4 seeds on average have about 7 or 8 losses.

For 1 thing there isnt a selection commitee out there who would leave Duke out of the the NCAA tourney as long as they are atleast on the bubble. I dont think a commitee would keep UK, UNC, or UCLA out either for that matter.

Not trying to get too picky but BC at Duke was a 6 point game with 4 minutes to play and Duke won by 14. Duke's 2-3 road record just does not give me much belief that they can go to the number one team in the ACC and get a win. It could happen, but they will be underdogs for sure. They will probably be dogs against Clemson as well and we know they will be dogs against UNC.
