In theory; and I know it never quite plays out this way - a 4-seed will be ranked between #13 and #16 in the nation; a 5-seed will be ranked between #17 and #20. Duke just got thumped by Maryland - a team with an identical W-L record, a nearly identical conference record (5-6 vs. 4-6). Yet Maryland is discussed as a fringe/bubble team at best; and Duke is a 4 or 5 seed. I'm not seeing it.
