Douglass was supposed to play at Station Friday, then today vs Wofo. Coach Garvin and Coach Ligon said they haven't practiced in over a week, so they both decided not to play this weekend.

This teams committed to this event, how can you pull the plug a day before?

Lol. Make the call or send a text. Two Douglass players were on football college visits (Miami OH., and Georgia State) as of Friday, so at this point, I'm not sure what the true rationale was for. But the story is lack of practice.

Bryan Station was a no show also, agreed weak story lines.

Were they even allowed to practice?

In JCPS if there is no school there is no practice but a few enterprising coaches hold non mandatory workouts off campus.

Also games are not allowed when no school BUT Archery and Bowling took place this weekend.

No, they were not allowed to practice that is why both Bryan Station and Frederick Douglass both backed out their games at Woodford yesterday and they were scheduled to play each on this past Friday, Jan. 30 but they moved that game until this Thursday, Feb. 5.

If no school, no practice, unless the district specifically gives a county wide waiver. Practice or not, I believe Lafayette and Dunbar both played though, although their Classic competition wasn't top tier.

I've been to this event several times.  Woodford County folks do a good job hosting it, always have good matchups with good competition.  The invited teams should show some type of commitment to be there, no practice time is just pure none sense.
