2026 Pittsburgh Steelers

Very interesting from the Steelers Joey Porter Jr. today. As reported by ESPN's Steeler reporter Brooke Pryor.

Speaking for the first time amid contentious contract negotiations, the Steelers cornerback was noncommittal when asked if he would play without a contract extension.

"I don't know," he said with a shrug. "I got to talk to the guys upstairs and my agents about that."

Interesting article on Yahoo sports about 2 hours ago.

With Porter holding out, Pittsburgh could be forced to make a difficult decision on him.

With the NFL season kicking off in just days, analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report predicts the Steelers will trade Porter to the Detroit Lions for a 2027 first-round pick.

Here is the link to the entire story.

Steelers Predicted to Trade Star CB Joey Porter Jr. to NFC Team for Solid Return - Yahoo Sports

Tua has been named started. Falcons 2 best pass rushers are out one suspended and on injured reserve.

Yahoo sports are reporting this evening that the Detroit Lions are in talks with the Pittsburgh Steelers about acquiring Joey Porter Jr. Very interesting I thought that may the very reason he did not dress or play on Sunday vs. the Falcons.

Asking price is a 2nd and 4th rounder.

They are back off. The Steelers originally were asking for a 1st round pick and no one was doing that.

This better than any soap opera. It's funny some people talk about the Bengals front office. 🤷‍♂️

Check this out from a local Pittsburgh radio station today:

According to a report from 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi, Porter "could be in danger of breaching his contract" if he doesn't suit up against the Bengals in Week 3, a troubling development in the never-ending drama with the Steelers.

"REPORT: Joey Porter Jr. could be in danger of breach of contract if he doesn't play Sunday, per our 937 The Fan Steelers insider Jeff Hathhorn," Fillipponi wrote via X. "The Steelers no longer list him as injured. And a CBS report said he's been cleared by the Steelers the play. Porter could be placed on a reserve list. In that scenario he would not get paid. This is getting uglier by the day." 🤭

Great move! Overpriced corner get 2 draft picks. Bengals would have kept him on the roster like Hendrickson and get nothing and then let him sign with a rival lol.

That's rich! You are like the wind last year he was one of the top 3 corners in the league. Then he will be playing, then they will get a first-round pick, and now he is just an overpriced corner. At least us Bengal fans on here will criticize the Bengals organization, coaches or players if they don't perform.

Got something for him that is all that matters. He was going to be one of the top paid corners.

I don't know if you or many know this and this straight truth not just trying to find some way to take a shot at the Steelers. The Steelers organization is one of the very few or maybe the only team now in the NFL is still living 20+ years behind the times in the NFL. Heck even the Bengals are progressed light years ahead of the Steelers. The Steelers owners/front office will not give any guaranteed money on a players 2nd contact. They actually even come out and said when they did give TJ Watt a big contract with guaranteed money they said we will not give guaranteed money in future contract except for the quarterback position. So they are going to get young talent but why would any want to sign a 2nd contract with very little guaranteed money. The Steelers are well behind the league when it comes to this aspect.

As far as they draft picks they will more than likely be well done in both the 6th round next year and the 2nd round in 2028.

Wake me up win all the other teams have 6 superbowls. For the Bengals when they have one superbowl lol it will never ever happen.
