What was Toyota thinking? this was a terrible person to put a team together. I do like that he's from KY but he's just not very good

Jr. is a decent driver but gets way too much publicity & attention imo

I understand that he is popular & people like him but its not b/c he's a great driver or that he is extremely talented. Its b/c his dad was one of the top drivers in history. Kyle Petty got this same treatment until everyone realize that he would never win a championship.

 

I know he like the $$ & popularity but is this really fair to always have this comparison.

How many times must I get on here and prove this theory wrong? For starters the Kyle Petty comparison is just laughable. Jr has already won twice as many races as Kyle has and has been racing 20 less years than Kyle. And Kyle got some good rides in the 80s. Ill agree that JR has had some doors opened for him because of who his dad is. What you or anybody else fail to recognize is that, under SRs own admittance, Ralphs name got him some rides when he was breaking into the sport in the 70s.Dale Jarrett, Davy Allison, and even Richard Petty took andvantage of theyre family names to get to the top as well. This theory would have some vaildity if Jr didnt start racing untill after his dads death and was just trying to capitalize on his dads death. Like Ive also said before if you put SRs first 7 years in the sport next to JRs the numbers arent that far off. Yes SR won a championship in that time but he didnt win the Daytona 500 and JR has. Jr has won 18 races at the cup level in 7 years and won at almost every type of track theyre is with my IMO a third rate team. Teresa has proven time and again that she is more concerned with turning DEI into racings version of graceland than she is with doing what needs to be done to put her race teams on the level of Hendrick, Roush,Gibbs,RCR.

I think Junior does get alot of publicity but because it is what the fans want. He is a decent above average driver but by no means the best. But he is still pretty good and not a Kyle Petty.

As far as the company him and Harvick (whos is my fav.) would do better to break away anyways. But I will say if it was my dad I would have a very hard time doing that.

:confused: ...Harvick does not drive for DEI. Are you saying that he should break away from RCR?
