While generally I agree with this, the amount of teams in these conferences now is so many that you can’t play every opponent. This can lead to way unbalanced scheduling. At least accounting for the top 2 teams to play one another guards (to a degree) against that. Good example: tOSU/IU tomorrow.

I hear you but I still maintain it is counter-productive for OSU and IU to play this game.

Why? OSU and IU will both get first round bye's win or lose.

I like the idea of a league championship game, what I do not like is a repeat of a regular season game, e.g., Bama/UGA BYU/TT, I've already seen those games played. But I'm not sure how you guarantee not to have rematches if you don't have conferences in divisions.

I suppose you are right about the byes but if OSU running clocks IU maybe not.  

But, if I take your side of it, they both get byes no matter what, what about injuries in a game that doesn't matter!!??

I understand you're point, but they can have injuries in the 2nd round of the playoffs, there are always those what ifs. I guess in honor or Roy Kramer, and they chance he took many years ago with the SEC going to a Conference championship game, I say let's let them have them.

I am not up in arms about it but I don't like it.  And as I have said for several years, give us 16 teams, especially we if we are going to have special cases where conference champs that wouldn't otherwise make the playoffs get in.

With all that said, best college football season ever for me and the playoffs haven't even started.

I agree, the one thing I do not like about the playoffs is allowing Tulane/JMU in over a P4 team. But you know, since you are the Guru, that when we do expand to 16, that the 17/18th team will be up in arms because they did not get in.

And that is why I suggest a 17 to 32 playoff.  If the Cats or Cards were in a 17 to 32 playoff we would all be stoked about it.

Not all of us.If ND, Alabama, Michigan, LSU fell into that group do you think their fans would be happy? How many players would opt out?
