Highlands 71 St. Henry 40

Vinny Listerman has really improved, kudos to him.  Thick, composed, confident, exhibits leadership, and can score it.  Will be a nice college guard wherever he ends up.

Other teams should enjoy getting their licks in this year, Sully will build a great program, and I love seeing Hendrix on his bench, but they have a lot of work to do.  Highlands was much tougher, more aggressive, more confident, and are really, really deep.

? ⚔️ | Tied at 13 in the 2nd quarter before Highlands went on a 10-2 run on their way to a 33-17 lead at halftime.

3rd quarter was highlighted by a couple of dunks by 8th grader Emil Wimzie and the Bluebirds stretched the lead to 24.

Cru began to wear down in the 4th, a lot to do with Highlands defensive pressure and depth.

Coach Listerman's squad definitely the fitter of the two. St. Henry struggled at the charity stripe throughout.

? Scoring per the 859 Sports Radio video stream ~

● Highlands: Rickard 16, Bouldin 10, Wimzie 9, Messmer 8, Wells 6, Harris 5, Ebert 4, Shaffer 3, Gracey 3, Schlarman 3, V Listerman 2

● St. Henry: Kunstek 12, Lutz 10, McIntire 4, Stevens 4, Fedders 2, Ravenscraft 2, Summers 2, Detzel 2, Lewis 1, Sullivan 1

Rebounding and turnover differential way in Highlands favor.

● JV game won by Highlands.

? Up next ~

● Friday: St. Henry hosts Conner.

● Saturday: Highlands hosts St. Joseph's College (Brisbane, AU)

No truer words could be said. Get your licks now 9th Region because I believe Sully’s teams will be a contender sooner rather than later. I would venture to say that 70% of Highlands scoring came off Cru turnovers. The toughness isn’t there yet but I look for that to change in the near future.

On the bright side I thought Kunstek was more than a force who HHS really didn’t have an answer for. He will be a go to player for the Cru moving forward.

No Lorenzen?

Not on the current roster. Read here he's focusing on football . . .

I believe Vinny is a Thomas More commit.
