Just reading over scenarios...if A&M doesn’t pull this game out, they needed Alabama and Ole Miss to both lose. With Ole Miss already winning, this is A&M's only shot to get to Atlanta. Good news is. They'll still get to the CFP.

Because the system is flawed, we need 16 teams in the playoffs and straight power rankings.  In that world a win over A&M gets Texas in.

They just announced this week that the deadline to expand the playoffs has been pushed into January, the deadline was supposed to be next week. Hopefully that means they haven't given up on expanding to 16 next year. Big 10 is the hold up, the last I read a few weeks back. They are demanding at least 4 bids go to them and SEC each season. SEC and others aren't agreeing with that. In most years Big 10 would barely deserve 3 teams let alone 4. I'd like top 5 conference champs (like now) then next 11 teams to get in. If ACC has a great year and has 4 or 5 deserving teams, then they should get it. If SEC stinks and only 2 deserve to get in then just send 2.

Conference title games are problematic at this point.  

Texas wins 27-17. Texas is now 2-2 vs. teams in the top 10 when Texas beat them. They also went up to Ohio State start the season and played them to this point the toughest of anyone and outgained them by almost 200 yards. If they had opened the year with a cupcake and would be at 10-2 and would probably be in the playoff. The counter would be you shouldn't have lost to Florida.
