I heard Tim Shaughnessy suggested that some members of the BOC resign. If they go through with any of this nonsense he will come after them hard.

I heard Tim Shaughnessy of Louisville has done this several times.

According to the CJ at the meeting Tim Shaughnessy encouraged the BOE to declare no confidence in the members of the BOC that voted for this proposal and demand they all resign.

 

The Board's management committee heard from several witnesses, including Tim Shaughnessy, a state senator from Louisville. Shaughnessy called on the school board to express "no confidence" in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control and to ask for the resignation of the members who endorsed Proposal 2. That board voted 13-4 to endorse the proposal before sending it on to the state board.

My understanding is that the State Board will not vote now officially on the matter til April! The mood seems to be negative for passage

Do schools really recruit?

Only if those groups have to abide by ALL the rules that sports have to follow. Drug testing, grade requirements, attendance requirements etc.
