2007 Henry Clay

Featured Replies

My understanding is that Henry Clay has previous contract arrangements which kept them from scheduling a regular season game with St. Xavier. It is not that they did not try.

I can't speak for Male and Trinity.

FYI.....teams from Louisville are every team's stumbling block for the large class championship.

Fair enough, just curious. :thumb:

Your last point is quite correct. Although Henry Clay has made some serious strides in the last few years to becoming a consistent power. :thumb:

Thats only 4 of the 7 non district games that they play. Do you know the other three?

I do not know the entire schedule, but I was told there are only nine games on it and they are having a difficult time finding the tenth game.

Also, Scott County decided not to play Henry Clay in 2007.

I'm quite certain that you have this backwards on Scott County unless Sam Simpson did a 180 in the past few months.

If Trinity's schedule wasn't already packed I would like to see the Rocks play Henry Clay in the regular season.

The nicest thing about going to 6A is the flexibility in scheduling if you ask me. I really like it.

Why would Coach Simpson do a 180? Henry Clay has beaten Scott County three straight times.

I was told that Scott County would not renew the contract. I haven't spoken to Coach McKee. What have you heard?

I will PM you.

Henry Clay still only has nine games on the 2007 schedule.

The open dates are September 14th and November 2nd. Any takers out there?

Two to Lafayette on the last game of the season both after 9-0 starts. Both on come from behind victories by the Generals.

The word "loss" is not appropriate for Henry Clay's two semi-final meetings with Trinity. Both severe butt whippings!

I think HC has done pretty well these past couple of years in terms of the big 3. They lost to the champs both times and other than the champs, I don't think any of the other two could've beaten them. Actually, in '02 and '03, I think the same thing was true about the Dunbar-Trinity scenario. T has the right formula to beat HC on any given night because despite having talent in the secondary, HC has never been really good at defending the pass. I don't think the teams in Lex. see it as the big 3, but rather Trinity and two other teams that are good and could poss. win state, but no one expects them too. It's really split here.

It has been blamed on the six class realignment, but is Henry Clay the only team out there who only has nine regular season games on their schedule?

Any other teams with only nine games?

I believe the Rocks schedule is a full 10.

Mercer County, defending 2A state champions only have nine games and are open the last week of the season, just like Henry Clay.

I say, "why not"! I wonder what Coach Simpson and Coach Jagger would think about this match up a week before the playoffs start?

Henry Clay has only four home games. Would Mercer County like to come and play on a new field in November?

I'm just a fan of high school football and I think this would be a terrific game. Both teams have plenty of size and speed and should be considered among the top 5 in their respective classes. I've been throwing around this option on BGP for some time now...I wonder if Jaggers and Simpson read this board and would be interested?!

I do know that Henry Clay has had a bye the last week of the regular season for many years now. I think it is their way of getting healthy to go into the playoffs. But, they have always had a ten game regular season and then a bye week the last week. This year they only have nine games and only four home games.

From a fan's point of view, I would love to see Henry Clay get a tenth game. I wonder how Coach Jaggers feels?

That would be a pretty good game, especially if televised.
