I am going to say he is gone. I think maybe the word got out faster then he wanted it to.

Duffer IMO did the best coaching job in the state last year. He and his Father have gotten their share of criticism. Some on reputation and some warranted. I have great respect Duff and how he has handled every situation thrown in his face.

If this is true??????????Then Henderson, one of the premier football programs in the state is looking for a coach rather late. Wonder what they will do? Surely if they hire someone from another school it will be a proven good head coach and now that school is looking. what a dominoe effect this could have on the top programs in the state.

So, who is up for the job at Henderson County, now Duffy has resigned?

That is a good question.

It is official.

I would say it is going to be difficult because most coaches are already under contract for next year.

I read where they already have 100 kids out for the team. I guess that means they had to order 70 new jerseys for this year?

Good one westky. Henderson should be in the hunt every year.

About half of those are freshman.

Needed to order some new ones anyway. Equipment rooms full of old crap i got tired of moving around every friday nite:irked:

Are they still allowing kids to come out for the team this week? The coach said about getting more player out when school starts. Is it going to be a long season with all these new players? This whole thing seems to be one big project. How many guys are returning with at least some playing time under their belt? How many Seniors will we have?

If your asking me, i couldn't tell ya, im hanging it up as Equipment mngr after 9 seasons of volunteer helping. Ready to sit in the stands again & just watch.

Prepnut, what happened to the game jerseys, film equipment, etc? The new coach plainly stated that he didn't have much to work with.

It is true the program was not supported as much as it could have been, but both coaches were cocky and closed off, more so Tom. I would even use the word paranoid. Everything was closed off with the idea of "us verses them", which included alienating some of the people who have supported the program for years. They brought some of this on themselves. I think the control and the mindset were like the "real men" bravado I heard coming from former players. In that environment, you can see what happened with everything. After talking with Tom Duffy years back, I realized this guy had real issues that in a way seemed to be a self fulfilling prophecy.

The whole thing was kind of like doing more with less and not just with numbers. I guess they did that the last five years in the West, but their teams were not competitive against the bigs of the state. I would say many of our top teams beat teams in our region that would actually do better against a big city schools (WC). Once the talent gap got to a certain point, everything was exposed.

Nothing happened to them. Henderson just bought new game uniforms 2 years ago. As far as the filming equipment I believe what Cleavenger was speaking of was the veiwing equipment in the office. They have an old vcr they use. It worked so I guess they didn't see the need to replace it. As far as what prep was talking about with equipment, my guess would be that there was a large amount of old equipment that hadn't been thrown away/given away that probably needed to be (correct me if I am wrong prep).
