Cov Cath is a football power. They play Elder so no reason they can't play St. X and Trinity other than if St. X and Trinity won't schedule them which is possible since they are in 4A but St. X played Boyle County so looks like they are open to playing a good 4A team.

Right, they played Elder, one (of teams like Elder/T/X) is enough each year.

Realistically speaking, I'm not against scheduling one or the other team in one of the upcoming varsity football realignment cycles and seeing how we do. The 2026 season will make the 4th time we've played Elder in the course of 6 seasons, and I would certainly liken T & X to a game of that caliber. With RPI being the fumble that it is when it comes to out-of-state games punishing the Kentucky teams that play them, playing either of those teams instead of Elder is going to be a net-win from my perspective. Obviously it's a little more of a pain to add in the 200 mile round trip to Louisville instead of the 15 mile round trip to Elder, but I think at the very least the RPI situation makes that a MUCH more convincing argument for us to schedule one of those teams.

I'm not in favor of adding both of them into our schedule, though. There's obviously the fact that both schools are approaching triple our enrollment, but then we are also still yet to see the full impact of the St. Henry football program on ours. Case in point, last year we had two full 6th grade teams in Colonel Youth Football. This year we only have one full 7th grade team in Colonel Youth Football and there are numerous kids from last year's 6th grade roster who are now wearing red and blue and playing in Erlanger. We've still gotta see how that ripples into our high school program.

So if you ask me, yes, I think we need to take a definite look at trying to get either Trinity or St. X back on our varsity schedule. I don't have any inside knowledge, but as much scrambling as AD Bacigalupo had to do this past spring after Holmes dropped from district play and Campbell County dropped us late in the scheduling cycle, PLUS the whole RPI dealio against out-of-state teams, I have a good suspicion that Baci is probably making some real consideration about trying to work to get one of them onto our varsity schedule in the near future. However, I don't think it's prudent for us to try to take on those two in the same year.

The roster I saw for Trinity had 66 kids on it, by my count. Cov Cath's has 38 players on it.

Also Tp94, CCH played Ryle and Cathedral this year too meaning they have played plenty of big, good schools.  Adding T and X would be crazy talk if you ask me. 

CCH frosh is a legit team. Saw them play once this year and they have the players to play and beat anyone. They've been impressive for a few years now.

Check's is great. I go there occasionally.
